10.9 Cat's out today?

I'm not sure if it's these drivers or an earlier release but performance in BC2 has noticeably improved somewhere down the line.
HBAO used to put a lot of strain on my 4870 and I couldn't play with it turned on and everything else on high but now I can, while maintaining good performance. Had an awesome session last night, HBAO definitely adds depth to the experience :)

tried various games last night not found any issues so far.

Looks like these guys might soon be out of a job. :D

I am sticking with 10.4's until more people have tested these latest drivers out.

E&B are out of the door, this is the new team.

I have just tried them and what a suprise. BSOD. This will be my last ATI card. Going nvidia when i get a new card. Tired of ATI and the buggy useless drivers. I would rather pay the extra for an nvidia card now.

Wow, so diverse with different user installations and findings. I'm really pleased with the 10.9a hotfix drivers in general, fixed scaling issues i had with hdmi, powerplay is ok and happy with temps at idle. Not tried any games yet though.

10.9s installed fine here (not over the top, removed 10.8s previously).

Never had any BSOD issues with ATi drivers.

10.8s didn't impress me that much, CCC was slower to load and SupCom2 crashed a few times. (Although that might be SupCom2 as it was updated a few days ago, so could be coincidence).

Will give these new one's a whirl later on.

Should mention, I'm on a 4870 GPU. It seems like most people that report problems are on the newer 5xxx Series.

:)

I've had more bsod's with NVidia drivers than with ATi's, but I've had more nvidia cards.

If you search google on it, it's frightening how many people use driver cleaner / sweeper while uninstalling / installing drivers.

I present to you the team lead of AMD's Driver Quality Control team, reporting directly to the CatalystMaker:

(And I've had no major issues, Im just poking fun while I can :p)

How is it frightening? I use a Driver Sweeper everytime to clear out all past drivers and stray .dll files which the ATi uninstall leaves behind so that there can be no compatibility or corruption problems from old drivers.

1. Uninstall via Add/Remove
2. Reboot into Safe Mode
3. Driver Sweeper and Reboot into Safe Mode again
4. Remove any ATi folders from Program Files and User Profile
5. Remove any ATi entries from Registry
6. Run CCleaner
7. Reboot into Windows and Install latest drivers

Works everytime! I can't believe an Uninstall leaves all that crap behind! Maybe people esperiencing BSODs that relate to drivers / software should give those steps a tryout as it sounds like an old file is floating about which is causing trouble. :)

1. Custom Install over the old drivers.
2. Reboot.
3. ????
4. PROFIT

Had no issues installing these ones, works fine. Had BSOD with 10.8, pleased with the drivers. Sometimes the problems is being caused be users themself :)

Already updated to 10.9 and seem no problems at all - I used ASUS ATi Radeon HD5870 V2 and seem it all right also all my Big Fish Games with lots of Hidden Object that seem ok nothing wrong with it.

Strange comment. Why is it "frightening" that people are using a certain program? Some of you guys talk as if Driver Sweeper is some unknown entity which will wreck your rig if opened. It is a tool to remove the .dlls, folders and files left over from uninstalling ATI drivers/catalyst - that is all!

Problems arise when idiots use it incorrectly (e.g. sweeping drivers away without uninstalling catalyst from windows first etc.). If used properly, it simply prevents the possibility of remnants of your old drivers interfering with new ones.
