PRE-ORDER: Antec Lanboy Air Modular Gaming Case

In the first video antec rep linked, it doesnt look too distasteful as it is all black, this is much better looking if you ask me than the yellow and black in the OP. The all black version I actually wouldnt mind too much having on the desk, the black/yellow would definetely be kept under the desk.

Quick question aimed at Ace Modder: Are Antec as popular a seller as 2 or 3 years ago? Apart from the Three Hundred, Nine Hundred and Twelve Hundred almost everything lately has had, errrm, questionable design

Whats gone wrong? As a long time Antec fan these newer cases make me sad :( This one is better than the Dark Fleet series IMO. Interesting idea at least

Fractal Design have picked up where Antec dropped it

Hi @ d_brennen....i'm not quite sure what you mean by "questionable design", or do you mean that you personally don't like the look of it? I think in terms of design and engineering these designs are the best we have come out with so far, the functionality of these products and features that they now offer are the best yet, and they will keep your components cooler than before.

Please remember, these are additions to our range...the products you are talking about are still current and you can buy those too if that's what you want. We have expanded our range and have more products available now than a few years ago to address as many peoples needs as possible.

We will continue to expand our range and we will be re-addressing some of those older designs that you are a fan of and expanding those ranges. But just because these look a lot different it doesn't mean that the design is bad.

I take your point Antec Rep. The above was IMO

If it were possible I'd lend you my eyes :p

EDIT; And it wasn't a snipe at the quality of the Antec cases. Form is almost as important as function IMO

Our best selling case is still the Antec 300. Antec are still no.1 overall for our sales figures. However I admit none of the newer Antec cases are in the top 10 best sellers overall though.

I don't think we have ever released a case that went straight in as a best seller, it usually takes time for the reviews and word to get out about them. Usually from people who have bought them and had great results from their build and overclock. If you look at our best 3 selling cases, the Nine-Hundred, Sonata and Three-Hundred they peaked when they were about 20 months old. When we launched the Nine-Hundred it hardly sold any at first and it took a fair few months to get going....and now it's one of the best selling cases of all time from any manufacturer.

Special request just for Antec Rep: Can you guys make a case with the styling of the p180 with the large 200mm top fan and grill of the Mini P180 in full ATX, make it available in gunmetal/black and white and without the growth on the side a la P193, pretty please? :p

Nice to see an Antec rep here. I'm scrlk from the other forum (the one with the Antec support forum).

I think Antec should look at the Fractal Design R2, make it larger and add support for a roof mounted triple rad and you have a winner.

I'd also like to see the 300 (Antec 350 anyone?) updated with black interior, HDD bays turned around, cable management holes and space for a dual rad at the front. It would be quite nice of a case at the 50-60 quid price point.

I dont think theres much chance of these going any place fast.

I quite like it! :o I don't think the picture in the first post does it justice.

Does it come in red?

//
Yes, just seen the red one. I prefer the look of the black and blue or completely black one.

It's certainly a different case, though i highly doubt i'd be the first one to be jumping for this.. i'm not sure i like the look of it at all.

But i can see it having its uses indeed :D

To reiterate what has been said a bit earlier - please, don't rush to judgement. First of all, the LanBoy Air comes in three different color schemes. Bumblebee wasn't my favorite Autobot either.

Yellow

Red

Blue

The concept behind the LanBoy Air was to give users a case they could make their own. Do you want your PSU at the top instead of the bottom? Go for it. Want your HDD's mounted going east-west instead of north-south? Have at it. Looking for a case that can handle the 15 120mm fans you have laying around your apartment? This is it.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I promise it hasn't gone unnoticed. For those of you who want to see more, we'll have a video up shortly hi-lighting the features of the LanBoy Air.
