Rugby League Season Starts Soon

North Stand fits 5500. Shouldn't be any issues with getting a ticket. I think you could still buy tickets on the night of the Leeds game. Leeds bought about 1000. I'd expect at least double that from HKR

Well on the HKR website it says that the club have 4600 (quite a lot!!). So I can only guess that the rest will go on general sale on the gate on the night. Getting my folks to pick me one up from Craven Park tomorrow though.

Not sure if I will park in the car park near the ground or in a side street off Ormskirk Road if I'm feeling stingey.

I thought he might have to sit this one out as well. They talk about coach-killers, but kicking somebody in front of your own posts in play off game takes the biscuit. You don't need to worry about Buderus' ban if you're a Leeds fan - that will almost certainly get overturned on appeal

2250 tickets sold so far so I'd imagine it will end up being about 2750 going, not bad for a Friday game across the busy M62.

Excited about the game but not nearly as much as I was for last week even though this is a bigger game. Beating the dullers was just so satisfying. It's a bit of a role reversal between us and Wigan from last season, they beat us in the second round after we lost our first match to Leeds. Last year the lower ranked team went on to beat HKR! Maybe it will be a trend this year!

Also, we lost both league games to Hull and beat them when it counts, we lost both games to Wigan and.......who knows!?!?!

Just poking the fire here.

I know exactly what you mean. It was comparable to winning the final! :D

Lets hope that we can indeed beat Wigan on Friday, that's my measure for improved performance from last year.

Come on you reds.....come on you reds.....

If Rovers don't win, I get a weekend away in London next weekend. Strangely, I'd rather be travelling to Leeds or Saints...

Roberts is in the squad for Wigan. Could be him or Richards at fb to free up Tomkins for stand-off.

Shaun Wane came into the South Stand bar after the game on Sunday and said that the coach had got into the team about 'getting into the grind and staying in the grind'. I'm reading that to be low-risk, head down, one-out football, so a low-scoring game could well be on the card. Particularly as that is how HKR tend to play as well.

Well done Wigan, quality side this year and we just didn't have anything left in the tank. Still chuffed to bits we beat Hull but Wigan were deserved winners tonight (even if their 3rd try came through a really stupid penalty that was clearly a knock on! :D).

I would also like to express my dismay at the disgraceful actions of some Hull KR 'fans' whom threw objects onto the pitch last night, including a lighter. 99.99999% of Rovers fans were absolutely exemplary last night and didn't stop singing from start to finish, even when the game was effectively over after 60 minutes. The atmosphere was fantastic and I'm sure Wigan fans can appreciate that the actions of a few are not representative of the club, whom in my opinion provide one of the best away followings in the SuperLeague. I hope these idiots get banned for life from any sporting venue in the future.

I also thought the support the Rovers fans gave to the Rovers players was fantastic at the end, they were truly dissapointed and you could see it etched in all their faces how much it meant to them, especially for Clint Newton (the big softie got a bit tearful!).

Thanks to the Wigan fans for applauding off the Rovers players at the end too, appreciate that. Will have my Wigan shirt on in the Grand Final!

PS: you really get a great view of the game from the top of the North Stand, enjoyed watching it from there.

Not a bad weekend for Wigan fans so far :) .

I thought the HKR fans were outstanding on Friday. About 3 times as many as Leeds brought and never shut up all night - even when it was evident that they weren't going to win. I'd have Dobson back at Wigan in a heartbeat.

I'm absolutely not bothered who Wigan get to play next weekend. Bizarrely, for me its probably easier to get to Leeds on a Saturday afternoon than it is to get to St Helens on a Friday night with work commitments etc. (Although its easier to nip over to Sts for a ticket). Its Wigan's 6th semi-final in the last 4 seasons. It's time to get this monkey off their backs.

Leeds v Wigan and Saints v Huddersfield.

Dobsons ours now! :D You can't have him back! heh! Looking forwards to him playing with Blake Green at stand off next year. Hopefully that will be the half back combo that we have been lacking for ages. We will also have the likes of Ben Galea and Scott Murrell who can provide the kicking options too so I'm looking forwards to next season now.

Can we have Charnley back now? ;) Was hilarious when he came out at Craven Park to play for Wigan, he had good banter with the Rovers fans, even in the Wigan shirt and deserved applause for his try against us. Come on Josh, be a Robin!

Charnley's future depends on what happens to Amos Roberts I suppose. Wigan get plenty of stick for letting youngsters leave - I think he'll get a few games in the cherry and white next season.

Nice leisurely trip over to Leeds Saturday afternoon - not my turn to drive, so a few scoops in the Headingley Taps and lets see what happens from there :)

My student local. Used to go to the Oak too. Sadly I have to drive to every game nowadays, no way jose will my girlfriend drive, its hard enough to get her to go in the first place.

Good news for Rovers today, the ground extensions have been revealed, the East Stand will get its extension so it will run the full length of the field due this close season, the golf stand (it used to belong to the Belfry!) will be moved from north to south and closer to the pitch and a brand new north stand will be built, hence the reason for the scabby mud piles that have been round the back of the north stand for ages.

Other news is that the club will no doubt find itself in hot water over the lighter incident at the DW. I still don't think its fair for the club to take the hit, it should be a police matter and the blame and punishment fall squarely with the so called 'fan' who threw it in the first place. Get him banned from all games for life.

About what i expected from the wire against huddersfield. Hope the semi's will be good matches. What's even worse is that i ned some physio myself, but the guy i go see is the giants physio, cant face the stick i'm going to get (plus knowing him he'll probably get some of the players in their to take the **** too!) from him as he has already texted saying it's payback time for the past few years! :D
