Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

I normally race on nose cam, i know its not a real sim view, but i find it easier... and its a view im yet to see anyone play using on the youtube videos, which is starting to concern me, only 4 more days and ill find out for myself. :)

Would have thought nose cam on a F1 car would be too low to use practically? You'd hardly be able to see the corners coming up unless they deliberately raised it and it wasn't actually placed on the nose.

were you there saturday aswell? had some stunning crashes :)

didn't make it yesterday, was too knackered to make the drive

Nah, had stuff to do on Saturday. Only went Sunday. Saw one good crash at Copse, I'd stopped recording at that point too, so completely missed it. :o

Great day though. I was shattered too, don't think I could make the drive there two days in a row, would need to camp, but my other half would have none of it.

A few people on YouTube have mentioned this. Any lower than the driver and you are basically a few inches from the ground. Can't imagine it being practical in anyway. They probably should have made it slightly higher (but of course that reduces the realism).

On one of the VVV gamer videos he does switch to it briefly so it is definately there, however as Nismo says it is is so low it is harder to see ahead enough to drive properly.

I will most likely be using cockpit cam or behind the helmet but I'd say cockpit...

I've never ever understood people who can play racing games with the cam behind the car. Baffles me.

I like to see the cars, I prefer the arcade feel. I prefer that fun aspect to it and can normally get better lines. Ever since I've owned a 360 none of these racing games have touched the fun aspect that old school chase view racers used to have.

I find whenever you race in car or bonnet they seem to give you much more leeway on the side of each car. They seem to under exagerrate the cars widths and you can get through gaps that I'm sure are not there.

As I've said before I grew up with chase view and I prefer it even though it's easier in current racing games to race in car.

I guess you don't understand me then :D

I will probably use the cam just above the drivers head for this game, though on things like forza I have used the cam behind the car. Granted being behind the car isn't realistic, but I never understood all the people who like to think they are super hardcore because they use drivers view...because that's hardly realistic when you think about it. Peripheral vision is non-existant, you have no sense of whats happening like you would in real life, and your head seems to be nailed to a fixed spot.

So whilst 'more realistic' its hardly the real thing. And a lot of the time I just like to look at the cars for some eye candy :D

Drivers view in F12010 looks better though.

Whats happened to all the official MS wireless wheels I can't find one at a decent price anywhere

Might have to try the highstreet game stores to see if they have a pre-owned one.

Peripheral vision is at least helped with widescreen setups now - but I know what you mean. Mind you, with the HANS device the drivers can hardly move their head anyway. The biggest problem here seems to be that codemasters have put the head view a little too far back, meaning your view left/right is restricted by the bodywork (certainly the video I saw of Ferrari anyway). I will at least try headcam for a weekend. T-cam view will probably be the most popular. At least we have all these options :)

Edit: Yes, wheel prices have gone crazy. Supply and demand, was always going to happen.

Regrettably cancelled my pre-order for this. Lack of funds and the fact that FIFA11 is just round the corner, means that I wouldn't be giving it the playtime it deserves. Will probably pick it up in the future no doubt, then again GT5 isn't that far away.

Just buy Fifa 10 or 09, all the bloody same anyway!
