Hi,

Am sick and tired of Tiscali lately. Have just noticed that beunlimited is now available my exchange - https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/beunlimited

I'm currently a DG834N router and am currently connected at 7360 kbps down and 704 kbps up. The be speed tester says I can get 11 meg.

Just had a word with their sales team and they say that connecting faster is pretty much guarenteed because they have theior own equipment (LLU ???) at the exchange - is this the case?

Also, what experiences have people had recently with be?

Be are the best of the adsl bunch, o2 might be an option if you have an o2 mobile as you can save some monies on the line rental.
 
I've been with BE since feb, and have to say that i'm impressed, no slowdowns that i've noticed. I sync at 11-12 meg, and am quite far from the exchange. It was either BE or Sky and BE worked out better as for the static IP.

Yer generally I am happy enough with Be. I have been with them for a good couple of years or more. Usually sync at around 13-14Mbit and usenet downloading firmly averages 1.6MB/s with peaks up to 1.8/1.9MB/s.
 
Iv been with BE for about 3-4 years.

I have nothing bad to say about them.

Unobtrusive, willing to help with any issues you may have.

I wanted to upgrade my router, just for the sake of it, I just tried my luck with just asking BE for a router upgrade, and they sent me a new router.... just like that.

You will get the max speed your line is capable to get.

It simply is what Broadband is meant to BE.
 
I have dealt with Sky, BT and BE broadband before - BE are miles better than the others imho. Their customer service is knowlegdable and helpful and the internet connections has almost always been spot-on and super fast (was lucky enough to be 100m from the exchange - so synced at 24.6Meg).

Just moved flat and I plan to go with them again (once BT have waited the prerequisite 3 weeks, charged me the standard £130 and got off their bums to connect my line).

You say you have the DG834N router post the stats here and will be able to give you a figure on your future connection speed, I would chose BE over o2 now as o2 have just redone all of their packages and now have download limits and traffic shaping all over the shot.

Do you mean the stats from the router status page?

Yup! New connections are not going to get what has been the happy times that we have had in the past. BE may become the upmarket division of 02 - otherwise there would be no reason for its existence
 
Another vote for Be - I moved to Sky earlier this year (free for 6 months), lost a Mb download and the 1.3Mb upload.

Going back to them next year.
 
I've been with Be for about a week, after waiting over a month for a phone line. The connection is good, but I don't rate their current router very highly. It's a Thomson TG585 v7 if you want to look up information on it.
 
Another satisfied BE customer for 2 years, excellent service, im on BE Pro and pay £11.50 due to having a discount as they wanted me to stay after a year.

Currently have an unlimited service and get 18mbps download and 1.4mbps uploads.

Cant complain
 
I'm mreally not used to ISP's being this accomodating at all.

Just called them up and they if I ordered over the phone they'd waive the £24 connection fee and knock £2 per month off the fee. Impressed :)

Im guessing you are going for the 3 month contracts yeh rather than the 12 month contract?

They are pretty good like that though you are right :) wonder if I can get bumped up to be Pro at no extra cost :) I could do with a 2.4mb upload
 
Well for a couple of quid extra per month I'm tempted to go on a 3 month contract on the pro.

I'm calling Tiscali/Pipex/TalkTalk (who knows!) today to get a MAC - wish me luck! :)
