Who's buying R.U.S.E.?

Air superiority seems pretty key. If you dont have that you will lose your ground units fast.

Personally I like to get enough GIs/anti tank in place to defend my base and expansion and then try and build up a massive fighter/fighter bomber force and take out the enemy wherever they pop up.

I am looking forward to reading other strategies when people start to mention this game more.

I normally play Russian and the AA is excellent at keeping planes out of my way, most of the AA is Anti-ground too :)

My ffav on multi so far is to play as british, whack out an airbase, an immeidately send a para drop of at least 4 para's to capture their bases. dDoesn't always work but even if it doesn't you make them spend a fortune on anti air and change their gameplay.

I'm on Steam as mikeyb if anyone wants to hook up!

I played the BETA when it was first released. Really wasn't impressed. Overall game play looked fairly exciting. It was just the controling of the game.

interesting comment, on the whole I think the controls work very well, my only issue is when you have massed your units and are trying to get a particular type

Double left click one of the type of units you want and it'll select all of that type of unit in view.

I found the SP campaign ok and at times fun, the big big problem I have is a historical one, they've got the Archer driving in the wrong ******* direction!!!!!! ffs the gun was mounted facing backwards over the engine even wikipedia can tell them that :(

The resources issue are a result of a What if? scenario. The direction a vehicle drives in is an immutable fact, sod it why don't Rockstar have all the cars in GTA go sideways since it's only a game

It's not a simulation, it's a tiny and most would say insignificant detail. If it was 100% realistic half the Ruses would be gone as I don't think any nations had the ability to suddenly make all their vehicles move faster in an area for a limited amount of time

Had started to enjoy this but now have reached a level where the enemy has aircraft, I don't, don't have any air defence either. Troops move forward get detected by recce and die. Might be missing something.

Thinking of buying this as it's 50% on steam today at £14.99
Wanted it on release day but did not want to pay full price.
I enjoyed the demo & downloading the demo again now to get a refresh so....

Interesting game I found, few rough edges but very original. I'd say buy it if you like more strategic RTS...which I realise is a strange thing to say, but its true some rts's are build army, smash enemy...this is a more intelligent game than that...personally I didn't like the graphics, silly thing to put me off it but just thought it looked like a game board...which was the point but still... not for me! :P
