A 14-year-old girl from Hertfordshire who included her address on a Facebook invitation to an orgy was alarmed when 21,000 said they would be coming. The girl, from Harpenden, had reportedly only intended to invite 15 friends to her 15th birthday party.

The incident follows criticism of Facebook's privacy settings, with concerns being raised that they are too complicated. A smug, self-satisfied spokesmuppet stressed that the privacy settings available for events created on the site are separate to those for users' profiles, on which they post information about themselves. When someone creates an event on Facebook they can tick a box saying "anyone can view and RSVP (public event)" - they should RTFM. (BBC on-line)
As she is under-age, presumably one shouldn't bring beer or spirits

Silly, silly Facepuke.

God sake...oh look, its facebooks fault because parents let their children sign up to these things and don't sort out the privacy settings for them.

Bloody load of tosh

EDIT: Too complicated? You click 'PRIVACY SETTINGS' then select a damn drop down box saying 'friends only' for everything!!!! AGGHH

Thing is, the provacy setting regardin events is seperate, but you still click something that says 'friends only'...or set it to invite only or whatever.

Also, if your profile is set to friends only, your feeds and invitations are only friends only I believe
