If your under 25 what car insurance company are you insured with ? which do you find the cheapest for your age group ?

Im under 25 male with a 8yr 1.2 mk 4 fiesta and paying 800 gbp per anum ive looked on a lot of comparison websites and that seems to be the cheapest feel puzzled how drivers of the same age group are driving 1.6l 05 reg for less than 500 gbp per anum ?

ive always had good experience with SKy Insurance. I've been with them for about 5 years.

Now at 28 with 6 yrs NCB i insure a Skyline GTR fully comp for £580 all mods declared.

I had similar performance cars at 24 / 25 and it was by far the cheapest around.

For normal/standard cars, Admiral group (Admiral, Elephant, Bell) have always been the best for me. Adding older, named drivers (like parents) to a normal policy.

Adding older, more experienced named drivers will bring the price down. Also postcodes will make quite a difference on the price so it may not be possible for you to get a lower quote. Even so it may be worth phoning up some of the companies directly and getting a quote that way.

Admiral have always been the cheapest for me for my 'regular' cars, but my MX-5 is insured through a specialist company. My Honda would have cost about £350-400 to renew but I bought the Mondeo which cost me about £850 to renew with. I'm 23 with 6 years' experience and 3 points on my license for crimes against humanity or something

Ive tried that but the company im with direct line for some reason wont add a named driver(parent) to your policy if they already have a policy open on another car and you have to open a new policy with just yourself on it which of course is the pricey option.Ive got 5 years experience no claims as of now and the quotes are still high comparing with other drivers even for 3rd party why do i feel like im being ripped off ?

I've been looking at insurance lately and Admiral or Elephant were cheapest for me.

Adding my old man to it didn't take the price down at all. Adding my Mother and Sister took it down by £200!

Adding my sister to it took it down by £50 and she's only a year older than me. Weird that adding my old man to it didn't affect the price.

Just insured my new car (2.0 Vtech) with More Than for £900. No no claims, 1 year licence, 21 y/o.

I'm allowed in here now! :D

Bell were by far the cheapest for me up til I was 21, whilst they're still cheap for me, now the Directline group of companies seem to be offering the best for me lately, I'm 23 and paying £630 for my R26R w/ 5 years NCB and driving for 6.

Up your voluntary excess and the overall price will usually go down by about the amount you add onto it. If you make a point of putting that cash to one side just in case if you have a shunt then you've lost nothing, but every year you don't have a shunt you've saved that cash.

Other thing is if you can afford to pay it in one lump sum rather than monthly you'll save a few hundred quid too.

As for which company, admiral has always been pretty cheap for me but I just let confused.com work it out for me.

Churchills for my old 1.4 L-reg Corsa. First year @ 17 years old £1400, second £1000, third 700, fourth £550.

Flux via Marker Study on my Clio 182 @ 21, 4years ncb, which was about £1050 I think.

All fully comp policies.

Edit: I found changing my voluntary excess to make hardly any difference at all, as in £3-4 total, so wasn't worth it for me.

Greenlight for the GTR - 3yrs ncb, limited mileage, 5 years driving, 23 years old
Admiral for the Pug306 - 0ncb and no limited mileage, same as above everything else.
