right a friend of mine has a question for you guys.

does she buy a 120 gig or 2 60s and raid then for faster speed

which one to go for sata 2

well if you are looking for speed or security then raid is your choice, if you just looking for just speed and space the you should go for the one big 120gb. At the speed of ssd these day i really dont see the need for raiding them.

SATA3, but would still go with the Crucial C300 128GB. Fitted another one yesterday, and they rock. When you eventually go SATA3 then you already have a built in upgrade path and they are still 'quick' on SATA2.

If money is no problem, then I would recommend a Revodrive 120. They are the fastest SSD on the planet for the money, and now I cannot live with anything slower as a result. There is a lot of conjecture about Revodrives, but mine has been faultless and still amazes me when I bench it. At 500MB/s READ and 440MB/s WRITE, there is not a lot at this price point to compete with it, plus theres no wires or SATA ports to be used up as long as you have a spare PCIE lane.

If she's familiar with the pro's and cons of a raid array, then 2x60 in raid O is a lot better and faster but if she's not up to it, then, the safer bet would be a 120/128 or 160 intel SSD's.
