Western Digital 500GB IDE ATA

I have just upgraded my hard drive to 500GB IDE ATA , its a external which fits in my coolmaster caddy . For some reason it shows up in device manager , its does not sow up in My Computer with the rest of the hard drives , any ideas , i have try setting the jumper settings but no luck

Right click on My Computer, Choose Manage, go to Disk Management - assign the new drive a letter and format it.

Yes all done and sorted , format drive , out of 500GB i was left with 470GB
