Saw this earlier and enjoyed it - relatively gritty and did remind me of Afflecks directorial debut Gone Baby Gone.

Nothing too clever, just seemed well put together though there are a few plot holes and I wouldnt say the script is that layered/deep...

Definitely would recommend it - 7/10

I saw this last night, thought it was very good indeed. If you like Heat you will probably like this.

I can't name a single film I like that Ben Affleck is in either.

Must say I am interested by the trailer for this and I noticed it was from the people who gave us The Departed.

I might have to treat myself to a cinema viewing on this one!

Yep really want to see this as well, good to hear it's lived up to the reviews

I've noticed this quite a bit with you, seriously what's the point?

I saw The Town on saturday - really good movie, and I think its Affleck's best performance by far. If you like your heist movies then you'll like The Town. The action is also very well done and if you enjoyed Heat I'm sure you'll enjoy The Town.

Fantastic film, great acting throughout, especially Renner in his supporting role, and the FBI boss. Great script and some brilliant films, not quite as epic as heat but certainly up there.

Very good film and very intense.

Only criticism was that sometimes it was difficult to make out the dialogue, particularly the blond woman and the bit by the cemetery.

I saw this at the weekend and thought it was very well done. For a 15 it didn't feel watered down at all either. Good punchy gun sound effects and from what I could see little or no CGI rubbish. I'd recommend to anyone especially if you like films like Heat, Point Break or the opening scene of Dark Knight.

You've just sold this to me mentioning Point Break and especialy Heat :0

Flicks next week it is.

Watched this on Tuesday with the mrs. We both liked it, was a good film, lots of action scences and a good storyline. Was pleasently surprised when Mr Postlethwaite, just made it all the better. :)

I watched this on Friday night with a fair few friends. The majority of us liked it. Scores range from 6-8/10.

I initially said 7.5 but on reflection I think 7 is fair. Has a reasonable story, good heist action and some inevitable cheese/love story elements. A bit of entertainment for 2 hours.

I didn't realise until the end that Ben Affleck also directed it! He didn't do a bad job.

Went with Knubj3 and Khaaaaaaan to see this, I'd give it a 7/10, worth a watch for sure.

The main letdown to me was that everyone seemed to have rubber bullets, there was a number of firefights in the film but only a few people actually seemed to get hit. It had a story though which was decent, and some good comedy moments as well, and the action scenes were good as well.

Just saw this myself. Really really enjoyed it and very reminiscent of Heat in places (but not in a rip off way). Best thing Affleck has done since Good Will Hunting and definitely worth a watch!

Anyone know what the extended cut on BluRay adds? It says its about 25minutes more footage but are those just longer entrances and exists to scenes, or new ones completely that build sport.

from what ive read theres a few new/and longer scenes, mainly for character development stuff.

i also thought it was a great movie, really similar to heat in a good way.
