Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

Yes, I would definately say its there, I have experienced it on several occassions.

Posting this again, surley this proves it isn't in the game:

"Okay, so I did a Monza career race earlier, expert diff, all assists off, all sims on, legend AI. Got pole in the Virgin but that's another topic, anyways early in the race I got nice and close behind Fernando out of the 2nd Lesmo and decided I'd take a screenie as I went under the old circuit. Check the speed and the perfect slipstreaming location:

Next lap I dropped back a bit, then made sure I got a good run again through the 2nd Lesmo as I did the lap before. Tried to take a screenie at the same point, here's the result:

2nd screenie is fractionally later so hence the extra 1km/h.

Next batch at Spa qually, should be getting the mother of all tows here (and the Macca should be getting a tow from the car in front, should be a double tow!):

Then next lap, actually a bit earlier on the straight with no slipstream I'm actually going quicker:

I can't notice any slipstream effect, as far as I can tell the speed you do on the straight is entirely dependant on your run out of the previous corner and ofcourse your setup. A car being in front or not doesn't make any difference as far as I've noticed."

You still think it's in the game?

People just like to complain.

Iam very happy to complain about the game giving 3rd place guy a win ahead of me.

Iam very happy to complain that the game occasional forgets to change my tyres leaving me stuck in the pits.

Iam very happy to complain that the game occasional doesnt bother pitting the other drivers.

Iam very happy to complain that the AI doesnt have to contend with fuel loads or tyre wear and that qual is a non event for them.

And there is a whole host of other issues from no slipstream, randomly swerving cars to entirely fabricated lap times.

I have experienced all over the course of 2 100% races and several short sprint races.

Haven't really experienced the excessive puncture issues of others and i must say there's a few things i probably would never have noticed if they hadn't been highlighted by others.

The problem is the façade has been broken for me, I know what the game does behind the scenes and everything feels so fake.

Either these people are godlike, or they have very low difficulty settings?

Thats what im hoping - ill have a go at career later today on hard or legendary.

What's the "fake" racing people are on about? Any examples or ways to recreate it so I can see it for myself?

For fake qualifiers. do qualifiers and ram Alonso off the road so he has bad accident. When you get to garage see if he puts in a good lap or if he is DNF etc

or just hold up all the drivers during qualifiers. when you get to results your actions in qualifiers have no bearing on the times of other drivers e.g. traffic/blocking dont affect them coz their results are made up.

For actual racing... im not sure as i havent done career mode yet.

So why was there no slipstream in the two examples i posted? You're posting opinion, i've posted proof.

Your posts show proof that there is no visible indication of an increase in speed on the speedometer from slipstreaming somebody vs that of traveling along the same straight without slip streaming somebody.

However, it's clear that you do get a boost from slipstreaming somebody, as I've also done it myself.

The issue seems to be the indication of what speed you are going, or again how it's all calculated. It's another issue with the game I'd say, but you do get a boost if you slipstream somebody. The fact that they also have the engineer talking about it and when you approach and get into dirty air is further evidence that the mechanic exists.

I've stopped playing this game until Codemasters say they can fix the pit stop issue at the very least.
I've been dumped from points positions back down to 24th in the last 3 races and it's just not enjoyable any more.

Can anyone tell me how i change the engine throttle map to fast as it does not let me change it?

im trying to set my car up from a setup from the official f1 forums

cheers

I think in career it's unlocked as the season goes on from r&d tests.
As on my second race I unlocked the 'cruise' mapping. You can see it in the car setup screen, but you activate it by pressing one of the D-Buttons (Xbox) to choose the mapping, much like how you adjust the front wing.

I can live with the various glitches that people have spoken about but I can't cope with being "cheated" out of results by the game. That's just too weird :D

I might stick to time trials with all the aids off to get my skill up and then go back to career mode when (if?) they sort out the pits at the very least.

Regarding the throttle settings, you unlock them in career mode by meeting practice time objectives and access them during the race with the D Pad.

Entertain me, where exactly in this thread did you predict this game would be crap. It's far from crap. You wouldn't like it, that's for sure but plenty of people do and will despite the niggles. I take it you won't be buying fifa 11 this year as that will have plenty of flaws as well.

Nope I am buying it but I wont be moaning about it, flaws are expected in games but moaning at every little thing is just a **** take, if you dont like it send F1 2010 it looks like its a faulty product and I am sure they will refund you.

I did the same with MW2 sold it due to being flawed and got my money back.
