You haven't been to India. Certain aspects of the transport network are pretty bad, although the train network is impressive as are internal flights.

However, UK has the worst bus drivers (and generally drivers) for sure. Very-very bad driving skills.

I was in Poland last weekend visiting friends and nosing around Auschwitz, when we hit the local night clubs afterwards. Lovely, stylish and violent-free place until we left the club. Outside was some poor fat, 40-something English cretin, slumped against a wall, covered in urine and vomit, ranting unintelligible drunken drivel about how crap Poland is and how great he is, how lucky they were to have him there 'classing things up'. In all fairness, it was comedy gold.
 
The problem is most of you haven't lived in another country long enough to find its faults surely?

A quick googling for Americans moaning about road conditions turned up this photo. Whilst I'm not going to use the photo as evidence that the roads can be quite bad - I'm sure somebody can find a swiss road with a hole in it - what i will say is that the picture above shows what many, many freeways I used were like. It was very common to find them in that sort of condition.

You can also see the sort of attempted bodged repairs which are very very common as well - cracks appear, slap a load of tarmac over it and that'll do.
 
our transport systems fine.

the only problems are due to it being so old and overpopulated but what can we do about that ? we ARE expanding/renewing but it takes time. got to remember that we had a transport system before some of these countries even had motorised transport... !

the only things letting the UK down for me are yobs/delinquents but we aren't the only country having those problems in 2010. its a world wide problem.

as for the UK being racist well ive never heard such rubbish. we must be one of the most diverse places in the world?

Engineering in multiple areas where still seen as the people to go with
Some of the best Universities in their choosen subjects, cambridge oxford, bath etc
The british menatlity, when our backs are against the wall we dont crumble.
Diversity of culture and langauges that are found.
Diversity of the land and enviroments.
Sense of humour

People over influenced by the media
Sue everyone culture
massive differencein jobs per area and wealth per area
 
On the whole the UK is a pretty pleasant place to live.

I'd like it to be a bit less grey, but then I wouldn't want the weather extremes or natural disasters that other countries get with that. :p

Actually the worst part of the UK is the UK that you see abroad - chavs on holiday, basically.
