Steam is easier as it holds all your games as well.
Frankly all I ever use it for is just to keep track of my gaming hour statistics.
steam does this?
Why do you want to stack your games stats anyway? Just makes you feel sad when you realise you've spent 5000 hours playing modern warfare 2 etc.
Er... broadcasting support?
I don't see the point in Xfire except keeping track of your hours played but then Steam started doing that last year too. Doesn't work when games run external to steam (such as launching Fallout 3 via FOSE) which is a pain but i can live with it. *shrug* maybe if you don't like/use steam but then there aren't many pc gamers who don't.
Shaolin... registered users is meaningless. I have a registered Xfire account but i can't remember the last time i actually used it.
Raptr is better.
Yes broadcasting support.
i can play a game & my friends & anyone on xfire can watch as i play in realtime & i can see how many people are watching me play.
And file p2p transfer is useful as well.
My overlay point is also valid as i use them while playing the games mainly the clock & sometimes the FPS counter & browser but with steam i lose game control.
The last point & this one is important in regards to you, where did i mention that i didn't like using steam, I use xfire & steam friends just as much as each other but i need both to get everything that i need & i have over 100 games on steam.
Try not to do here what happens to often in the GPU as i was only pointing out features & abilities of each that i find useful.

Isn't broadcasting almost eavesdropping ><
Its unlikely enough people even know of its existence otherwise steam may of added it in some shape or form. After all they do have a suggestions section on their forum and if it got enough internet people might use it.
An on screen clock is pretty meaningless. You can bring up and close the steam overlay in a fraction of a second to view the time or alternatively just wear a watch or have a clock nearby... but losing game control? Seriously how does it matter? You can't type in a chat window and still play at the same time anyway. Ok there are some instances where it would have an effect but if you have an urgent conversation going where you can't spare a few moments in game to reply then perhaps your attention is in the wrong place.
And that wasn't directed at you... just a general comment regarding why someone might ultimately prefer not to use steam.
250k v 2Mil+ on Steam during peak hours, it is dead anybody that can't admit it is deluded.![]()
