Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

I agree, it's good that they are taking the crits and hopefully doing something about it, that is how you make a good game great.

I have no doubt this will be a great game.

Experienced a weird glitch last night.

Qualified 18th with my Lotus at Bahrain, so was out of Q1 but above my target of 20th. Got to the GP and I was starting from 24th

I've ordered this but all the talk of glitches and bugs are putting me off, I hope they're not as bad as people make out.

Here's what I think happens, you need to get the stops done the lap after those around you stop because otherwise they stop and they start to catch up with the rubber banding.

I've noticed this when I've been flying. I'm leading the gp the ai pits and I have a massive 20+ second lead due to not stopping. I can then carry on consistently pumping in fast laps and I can watch the AI catching up on the mini map. If I leave it too long to pit they catch up too much.

Pleaed codemasters are actively taking an interest in improving and patching this game unlike infinity ward with COD or ea with Fifa.

I could only think it was rubber banding, but it would have been to a ridiculous level to go from 7th to 20th with a normal pit-stop over what was at the time a stretched out field!

It is strange at times what happens, it would be nice to be able to watch a replay top down of the whole circuit and watch how your strategy played out.

As I say I normally try to stop the lap after the last stopper I can see. Also I have tyre wear off because it's pointless to have it on because the AI doesn't suffer tyre wear, so I run far longer on the option than they do. Not that it matters I don't seem to have any drop off in performance when I switch to the prime and neither do they.

What wheels are people using. I'm thinking of buying this soon so would like to dive in a buy a wheel :)

Ive just ordered the Logitech Driving Force GT judging by the reviews, can be had for £79.99 from a catalogue shop. If you're a bit more flush with cash go for the Logitech G27 from OcUK, free copy of GT5 too :)

Thanks for that link worth posting the workaround for those that rarely click links :)

Problem

The save file is reported as corrupt after progressing through the career mode.

Solution

We have identified that this only occurs if, after completing an R&D objective, you...

- Retire to the paddock via the Engineer (in the garage).
- Terminally damage your car and select retire to paddock.
- Get disqualified and select retire to paddock.

As long as you progress to the qualifying session before quitting the game this problem will not occur.

We are investigating a permanent fix to this issue, but the above workaround will allow you to play normally until that time.

Discontinued :)

Edit - The Fanatec Porshce 911 Turbo S works with the Xbox though IIRC

certainly does and its rather good :)

I've been playing this more and more over the last few days and love it. The driving model once you get dialed into it is very good.

I haven't noticed any Pitstop bug. Don't see what the fuss is. I'm on 20% lap distance. I either pit earlier than the strategy or very late.
There are effectively 2 pit stop bugs.
The first, you come in for tyres and the lollipop man will not release you if there are any other cars in the pit lane, regardless of their position relative to your car. This can lose you immense amounts of time.

The other bug seems to be with timing in the pits. You seem to lose far more time when piting compared to the other cars, even if you have a clean stop yourself.

Yep its incredibly annoying, i was in 3rd and pitted and came out in 23rd, they held me for almost 30 seconds  Not playing career mode again until this one gets fixed.

That's strange. When I was racing Spa, I came into the Pits first, then 4 others came in the same time. My garage was the last one in pits, and I came out first before the rest?

So I guess the bug must be related to the garage order. I guess I must be lucky because I haven't noticed any issue with pit stops. There obviously is a bug for some people but so far *touch wood* all is ok for me.

How many laps were you doing though?
That's the major factor.

The smaller the number of laps, means that the window for everybody coming in is pretty much the same. So if you go with the engineer strategy, you pit when the entire field does to and your lollipop man won't release you.

If you do getting on to full race lengths, it's not so much of an issue.
