eBay woes

I hate ebay....

I got close one day to visiting a guy who gave me trouble funnily enough over the exact same thing a GFX card....I woulda socked him for 10 seriously LOL.

I sold one and I forgot to mention in ad It didn't come with box (i'm sure I said I did don't remember) but he wanted me to refund him 50 quid... nearly half selling price, for a box? Let us be real here.

Don't refund him.

Don't pay. Get him to send the item back first. As above, tell him you put security number on it to check it is original sent. Hate Ebay / Paypal.

He has now sent me pictures of the damage to the box and card, and a video of the fan being all wobbly. I'm currently writing out the Royal Mail claim form but he has now raised a dispute on Paypal that I must answer by the 9th of October, will Paypal accept that Royal Mail are dealing with the claim and I cant refund him until they accept it and refund me? (can take up to 30 days) as I did abide by all of Paypals rules for seller protection. Also RM say I may have to send them the card what if he refuses to send it back to me?

Also here are a couple of pics of the damage, am I the only person who thinks it looks a little convenient given that the card was triple wrapped in a thick(ish) antistatic bag and inside the cardboard protective bit inside its box (Box looks wrecked at corners,I used the original packaging it was sent to me in)

if it was in a box surely there is no way at all that damage could have occured?
i've never bought a gfx card where any of the card was near the corners of the packaging...

The bottom corner of the end plate looks suspicious to me. If you look carefully it almost looks like the damage you would get with a pair of pliers to bend it outta shape.
Thats not getting bashed imo.

Do you have pics from before you sent?

looks like it could be done with pliers and easily corrected too!

does he not have to return the card before you have to refund him?

As has been said. Ask him to return the card and original packaging. Inform Paypal/Ebay you have requested the item to be returned for inspection before you can process a refund. He is supposed to return it to you at his cost also.

Read the section about reunds near the bottom of this page.

He should also use a tracked/recorded delivery method so he can prove you received it, if he doesnt then that's his loss and you shouldnt need to refund.
