Basically, as per title, I fancied trying a couple of floorstanders to replace 2 of the sattelites and ordered these, if I can't use them it's not a biggy as I also have an amp downstairs with 2 old broken Jamo speakers ( foam rotten due to age) but I was wondering if someone could tell me if these speakers can be used on my Z5500 without damaging it :

2-way bass-reflex
Size 910 x 180 x 238mm
Weight 8 Kg
Woofer 140mm
Tweeter 25mm
Impedance (Ohm) 6
Frequency Range (Hz) 48 - 20.000
Power (W, long/short term) 100 / 140

Might work but I doubt it's worth it, the Z5500 speakers are 8Ohms iirc and the crossover in the Z5500 will be set to drive the sattelite speakers in the rated frequency range.

Would I damage the inbuilt amp if I ran 2 6Ohms speakers instead of the 2 (probably) 8Ohms rear sattelites ?

I've used different Jamo speakers before on my Z5500's and they worked fine, old Jamo Dynamic D4's, they were however rated ''impendance 4-8Ohms''.

True but they lack a lot of midrange imo, audio that is nice and ''boomy'' ( not bassy) in my cars doesn't sound boomy on the z5500's.

Why bother? This is like trying to open a can of beans with an angle grinder, sure it may work but it's not really a good idea...

I'd just ditch the Z5500's altogether and get an amp for the Jamo's if you want to see what they sound like... What sensitivity are the Jamo's?

Different environment changes how they sound not the speakers per say. In the car you have a very enclosed space with metal for the sound to bounce off whereas in your room you have 4 walls and a lot more space. Im not going to be technical about it but thats probs why it sounds diff.

Also its not really designed to be used with other speakers other than the ones provided, almost all "all in one" systems like yours is built to work with what you get in the package. Only amps are really good for diff speaker setups as thats what its designed for.
