Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

I just qualified in the dry at monza in 1.28. The race is wet and I'm started on inters, lapping at 1.29 consistently with rain coming down. I pull out a 20 second lead with relative ease and the AI start pitting for options with the rain still coming down. I didn't pit at all and stayed on the inters as the track dried and carried on putting in 1.29-1.30s.

Wet weather doesn't work all that well.

Interesting danny.
Are you playing on hardest difficulty, would difficulty change this?

I'm finding it so much more difficult to stay on the track with a wheel and I'm not even within 10 seconds of my time at Bahrain with a pad.
Stick with it mate. It takes time and the best way to learn is race your own ghost car or one off the leaderboards. Stick to auto brakes and gears to you accustom to the steering timing and sensativity.

I did a 1:24 at monza in my trusty lotus

But yh, slicks work in light/medium rain it seems, however when I did hockenheim in terrential rain they were as you would expect so wets were needed. Though a boat would have been more useful. :p

Well thats with all gadgets off so I'm on a custom setting but difficulty wouldn't change my grip level. I said earlier in the thread I had the reverse work for me as well. I went out in moderate rain and continued to set my fastest laps on the option.

I suggest staying with the inters rather than take a pitstop when others switch to option. You will see you can maintain more speed on short races than you would lose by pitting.

The only difference I found on the inters in the wet was I was slightly more carefull to quickly come off the brake if I started to slide because once you start sliding it's hard to get traction again.

Well I use a pad too, but to be fair I love my lotus :p

Got a few upgrades yes, mainly downforce ones. I used the setup 2nd from the right, set the engine to fast and think I made some minor tweaks to the stiffness of the suspension.

I'm really getting into Abu Dhabi on TT at the moment. It's a really nice track to drive even if it's nowhere near as exhilirating as Monaco or Barcelona (boring to watch, amazing to drive)

Plus it looks great too.

How does this game compare to the sterility of driving around Silverstone and Circuit de Circuit de Catalunya in FM3?

Huge difference, speed is a lot more apparent, circuit is a lot more precise and generally... A F1 car is a huge difference from a production car lol.

ags

I got to be fair i feel like im driving perfet but i always qualify 24th on beginner
Seriously i cant go any faster

That happens a lot until you car starts to get upgraded. It still happens to me. I win monza then turn up at singapore and finish 24th with literally no pace at all in my car.

Something strange here..

I've got both the PS3 and the PC version and decided - sod it.. Try my wheel (DFGT) with the PS3 version. I placed the wheel - much to my gf's disgust on the dinning room table and dragged it to the TV lol...

Anyhow, I've done kuala lumpur with both the DS3 pad on the PC and the PS3 - I can get 1.40 ish in a lotus with the PS3 and the handling is much better... PC I can barely break in a 1.43 with a DS3 pad - same car.. Ok might be the PC drivers for the PS3 pad. With a wheel I can get around 1:37 ish... On pro level that'll get me into Q3. PC version that is - out the box. Nothing but using race engineer setup.

Did the same on the PS3 using a wheel, its much better... Broke into a 1.35 ish... Almost pole in a lotus 1st season..

Seems the PS3 version handles better? Am I just imagining this?

Thats why its important to do the season testing in practice to get the upgrades....

And talking of Singapore - what a race that is... lol its so tight, I cannot for the life of me understand how these F1 drivers drive that for nearly 2 hours. I did 10 minutes and was almost drained.. lol

Suzuka in the pouring rain, I was struggling a lot and I noticed not once have I had a good start. So I threw all the gadgets on and tried again, still couldn't beat the AI away from the line, couldn't really out brake them once I got to the top 10 and couldn't beat them for traction exiting the corners.

All a bit weird really.

Well this is what happened at monaco, i got up to 15 th after 3 laps
Pitted. Out in 12 secs or less
Then finished 22nd
I was soo on the ball as well but it just didnt happen, was really consistent, also theve given trulli new bits i dont have gayers.
I do all the r and d though

Have you been finishing lower than Trulli in many of the races?
