I just upgraded to i7. It's a 920 D0 Stepping. To get to 3.8GHz it needs 1.3Vcore to be stable (prime). However for 4GHz stable it needs a vcore of 1.4.

Now I'm not bothered about the 200Mhz and rather run it with a 1.3 Vcore. I just wanted to know what your Vcores are.

Do you want CPUz Vcore under load or Bios settings?

CPUz readings
@4Ghz under load 1.296
@3.8Ghz under load 1.254

Bios settings
@4Ghz 1.325
@3.8Ghz 1.275

Matt

1.28 for 4Ghz, 1.32 for 4.1Ghz, under load. 1.4V does seem rather high, maybe try bumping up the VTT, NB and QPI voltages?

Damn, my volts are stupidly high for my 950 at 4ghz (23*175). 1.35 vcore, 1.35 vtt. Temps have hit a max of 86 degrees on Intel Burn Test, mind you I'm running on air. It doesn't run stable under Intel Burn Test so probably have to bump it higher! But temps are too high as it is :/

Don't for get each CPU will be slighly different, my i7 920 DO needs 1296Vc thats under load, Bios setting 1.31875 @ 4.2GHz / QPI 1.312.

Bios settings:
1.2875v Vcore
1.3v QPI

Idle/Load:
1.272v Vcore
1.3v QPI

Can be prime stable at lower, but needs the above to be 100% stable for F@H.

Have you tried 200x20 yet?

Here's a scrennie for a 4.2 voltage.

Bios
VCore = 1.2875
QPI/DRAM = 1.2375

Mines just over 1.3v in the bios with the qpi/vtt the same. Comes in at roughly 1.28v in the OS on load with cpuz. LLC also enabled.

im at 3.78GHZ with 1.23 Volts after V drop. qpi is at 1.34. any advice for getting 4 GHZ? tried putting in 1.31 but wouldn't get past windows loading screen
