Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

just done my first pratice session at Budapest and coming round the last corner it brought memories of Hamilton in 2009 coming round on the last lap winning his first race of the season waving his finger.
 
well, after my corrupted save (where i was 4 races in and at 0 points , thanks pike btw)
i hopped right back on the horse and did a sakhir again, with lotus and the same exact difficulty set up as before. and came 5th in qualifing (never had better than 22 before). then in the race i came 1st WOOOOOOOOOOOO lol 25 points yes please. im going to the top lol. seriously though i was **** hot then.
 
Who says there's no over taking at Monaco. :D
Came out the pit 8th after a good qually time put me up front to start. All i could think of was Mansell chasing Senna down whilst i over took my way up to 2nd & tried to chase Alonso down, I Pawn at the swimming pool complex, Fact. :D
I ended up clipping my front wing & losing a few seconds so finished 2nd, After the race i needed a break a cup of tea & a smoke. :p + :cool:
Frank Williams is happy & i am chuffed to bits with this game. :cool:
Perhaps i am just lucky that this game just suits me & what i want from a racing game.
The driving/racing & the learning curve & the single player mode are giving me hours of fun. :cool:

Off to put in a few more hours now. :D The amount of hours I've put in since getting this Wednesday is embarrassing. :o

I remember that race so vividly, I was screaming at the TV willing Mansell to get past Senna, there was even a couple of moments around the swimming pool complex when I thought it was going to happen, alas not, but I always think about it whenever I play Monaco, and that Fw-14b was a ruddy handsome car :D

Now If I can just stop clipping the rumble strip and spinning at Saint Devote I'll be a happy camper :o Great game though :)
 
Meh, starting to lose some of the good feeling I had for this game. Pretty much every race I have is now affected by some bug or dodgy AI, simply doesn't make it fair or enjoyable to play unless all you're doing is TT. Yet again I was conned out of a good race position as several cars that were behind me didn't pit during a dry race, and I then ended up behind them after I'd stopped.

I seriously hope a patch addresses all pit-stop/rubber banding bugs, otherwise race mode is next to useless IMO.

^^ i wasnt sure if webber skipped a pit stop in one of my races, he was so far ahead after my pit and i had a 8-9 second lead, i was thinking he hadnt pitted but surely he had to.
 
Noooo!!! I was up to 3rd and doing well keeping up with the cars in front. I came to do my pit stop and came back out in 10th. Carried on racing and waited patiently until everyone ahead of me pitted. Only thing is Webber and Alonso didn't pit at all! Cheating ******** cost me 2 places resulting in a non podium finish and less points :(

Booo for bugs. I'd rather them fix that kind of bug that the pit stop bug, the pit stop bug has several easy work arounds.

Yes had this myself in china, its quite annoying. Codemasters are not known for releasing patches for their mistakes but this game is too big to ignore and so hopefully we'll get a patch.

I was on for a win in China and Hamilton and Rosberg didn't pit. Also, China I pitted on lap 10 and the rear jack guy was in the way and I couldn't enter my pitbox and I was stuck. I had to restart the race.... Really annoying. the pits in this game is, erm well the pits...

That's nothing, I saw the entire field drive right through me in a pit stop, not cool. But, I also saw a car totally vanish and then go on to win the race...

I notice, or read some are not playing until a patch is released...!! wow that is bad... must say i'm in my first season and I'm sitting in a lotus on pro mode with 22 points and a podium - so guess i must be finding some enjoyment out of it, even though its a bit of a shambles in terms of good programming.. the AI is certainly odd.. i just do not like how they defend when you're on a qualify lap..

I mean, honestly I was on a hot lap around China and Alonso defended his line whilst he was driving out the pits.... What a joke.. lol Rammed him off the track in disgust and got a 5 place grid drop.. Used a flashback to replay and drive around him to avoid the penalty..

the flashbacks are handy to overcome some of the stupid AI mistakes.
 
I've stopped racing against other cars like a lot of people. Too frustrating to lose everything you have achieved halfway through a race because of poor programming.

I'm loving time trial though! Playing it with all the aids off except braking line and getting used to being more sensitive with the controls (no wheel)

Eau Rouge is proper knife edge stuff with a pad and normally results in me doing a JV if I try to take it flat.
 
What are the best things to say in interviews to get other teams interested in you. No matter what I say, the interest always goes down.
 
Had enough of my wheel already. Only had it a day but it's making the game fee like an absolute chore to play. 7 seconds off my time with a pad and barely 10 laps done in around 6 hours due to spin after spin after spin. Wish I hadn't bought it now :(
 
Doing a time trial at Singapore, this is the best 'feature' I've seen in a racing game..

There is an armco 'protrusion' on the right just before you drive onto the Anderson Bridge, it literally stops the car dead and I mean you stop... Laughable, I didn't lose the wing or anything... As we all know, to get a decent time at Singapore you need to be quite close to the barriers and walls...

ha ha... Codemasters are certainly not masters of code.. !!
