friend AWOL in Amsterdam, due to fly back soon.

Everyone goes a bit wild on holiday, he's just gone a bit too far, you should still be there for your friends though.

There's going wild and sleeping with hookers, and then there's nicking your mate's debit card and spending their cash [presumably] on said hooker. A friend who did that to me probably wouldn't be a mate for much longer. What if Simon hadn't had another debit card? As it is, if he stays to look for his friend, he's gonna have to pay through the nose for the next flight because of his friend's stupidity.

You have no idea how their friendship is or how it works. Like you said if it was you then you would do what you said, fine, not necessarily what he would do, besides you're guessing it's a hooker. From what I've heard Amsterdam is ****ing expensive, so why would the prostitutes be 50 euros? What would you get for that a little finger up your arse from an 80 year old jiggolo?

Well, if the money wasn't going on a whore or something similarly naughty, why did he take his friend's card without telling him why he needed it or how much money he needed?

Looking out for friends is one thing, but you can't keep indulging idiots like that. He'll only start taking bigger liberties.

People can only assume what's happened, we need the OP to update us!

My step dad was arrested in the Dam with a few of his mates after he was jumping up and down in a lift. He was put in a mental hospital and it took 2 weeks to find out! It was his 40th lol. Old school punk rocker :)

Call the embassy.

thats a nice story your dad made up to cover up what really happened. :)

I am the kind of person that goes missing, Always have always will i s'pose, I just sort of get distracted & wander off. As i've always been like it nobody worries & i just catch up with everybody else later.
I'd leave his stuff where it is as that's where he'll look for it first.

On a side note i bopped my way back from Paris Est station to London without a Passport, tickets boarding pass or owt. One of my all time best bopping achievements.

Thousands of illegal immigrants do this every year. This isn't such a huge achievement :p

Hehe yeah. When in actual fact he spent two weeks blowing your college money on bedroom olympics with a lady of the night. I bet a lot of people get "robbed" in A'dam.

wouldn't want you as a friend.

Good to know.

I'm sorry, but there's having fun on holiday, and being a complete tool and spoiling it for others.

If he'd got in trouble say lost his passport, or ran out of cash, or any other number of normal holiday problems i'd stick around and do whatever I could to help them out.

But disappearing off, coming back, taking my bank card, spending my money, and then not getting back in time for the return flight, well that's just overstepping the line.

It's not like i've dumped him there, it's his own fault. I'd do my mate part by packing his stuff and leaving it somewhere safe (at the hotel reception desk) along with his passport if I knew where it was.

After that, he's a big boy, I'm sure he can sort his own way back.
