lol.

With all "reboots" your going to have quite a few unhappy fans.

Okay i really like the DMC series and that trailer just looks turd, Dante looks turd for one yes they want him to look younger but still.

Will hold judgemeant till more trailers and previews

it's Japanese culture. where men look like girls and girls look like girl.

It's an English developer. Dante looks a lot more western. In fact he has a Union Jack on his jacket. The design is reminiscent of the mod scene from 1970s Britain, right down to the minor details.

My mate sent me the link to this the other day as hes part of the team working on it...the git :(

Looks good though :)

Really don't like the new look. Dante's a wisecracking, demonslaying legend, who just happens to be the son of a demonic knight.

The new look seems more suited to the Twilight fandom, and a character who is more likely to be fighting a police officer than a demon.

I'll reserve judgement on the game itself, but I dont like the new look much at all. They've also lost a lot of the gothic/occult imagery which is usually part of the series, which was another thing I liked.

This picture I saw elsewhere really sums it up for me:

I mean this is apparently a comment from the design team itself:
"Ninja Theory director Tameem Antoniades takes the stage. "We're taking a younger Dante" that incorporates the youth culture of today, from fashion to music to street art, etc."

WHHHHHHHHY!!!!

DmC: Devil May Cry to utilize Unreal Engine

No surprise this would be the choice since Ninja Theory recently worked on Enslaved which also used it, and I can see some good merits from this i.e. gritty look for the gothic environments. But as well because of this, you could already get a sense that the overall combat and performance will be different. Since this is a new direction, most likely this time around, this game might be limited to 30fps as opposed to the speedy 60fps nature of the previous 4 games. It would seem to match well with the Westernised combat mechanics unless the developers decide to suprise us.

Batman: AA also used the Unreal engine and that game was amazing!

Yes but that is a totally different game so no idea what it has to do with Devil May Cry.

Of course it does most games that have used the unreal engine have turned out good. Also games using the unreal engine haven't all been 30 frames have they?

Yeah it looks like you have no idea what I am on about. Let me try to elaborate.

What I am trying to say is can the consistant 60fps fast-paced twitch-combat and gameplay mechanics of the previous Devil May Cry games be fully replicated on the Unreal 3 Engine?

Whilst there have been a few action platformer oriented games on the Unreal 3 Engine before, I don't think there were any that is on the same gameplay and mechanical calibur of a Devil May Cry game.

And because this will be a new game made by Ninja Theory, with a new direction for the series, it would come as no surprise that combat and overall speed of the game will be different, and the engine that they will use (Unreal 3) is partly to dictate that.

So this new game may have to be limited to running at 30fps as opposed to the older games which were all 60fps, which I think is a significant change that would impact the overall combat system and gameplay speed.

Oh and the majority of Unreal 3 Engine powered games generally run 30fps or lower on the Console systems. On the PC that's a different matter.

I cant remember where i read it, but generally the Unreal 3 engine doesnt run as optimally on PS3 compared to 360, So any game that does come out on the engine will POSSIBLY suffer on 1 console over the other.

*edit* added possibly since my crystal ball is on the fritz

I thought Unreal Tournament 3 ran pretty well on the PS3, though this one did come out before the 360 version.
