I see nothing but quite reasonable futures for the next 2 years or so for both consoles.. that clearly must make me a Fanboy..
 
yeah of course i am you silly boy , thats why i have both systems under my tv .
ps3 will be market leader preety soon and the next 12 months will be the best time to owe one . aint nothing groundbreaking coming to xbox .

I've got a 320GB PS3 + Move/360/Wii/2 DS's/PSP/iPhone/Android Phone/PC and a commodore 64, so nerr... my opinion is obviously more valid then yours

I happen to have both systems and can confirm that the 360 gently sings me to sleep every while the PS3 is next door trying to burn down my house.
 
I have to agree with sniperone somewhat. In my opinion the PS3 is more future proof, whereas I believe the xbox is at its limits and has been for a while.

Therefore whilst both are good consoles, I think its a fair point that if someone was buying one new today, they would be better off with a PS3.

Of course though its never that simple, and as will be repeated over and over, friends owning whichever console will usually sway the decision.

I wouldn't call kinect ground breaking either...same with move.
 
no move is rubbish to . people dont buy add ons for consoles , just look at the history of games consoles if your old enough you would remember the failed add ons ( hd dvd add on as example ) for previous generations of consoles dont work . kinect will be in bargin basment bin in a year

Also what's your budget? Is this just an extra something to throw in the lounge and play when mates come over?

You can get a new 4GB XBox 360 with Fifa 11 and Forza for £150 and always stick a USB memory stick in.
 
Although I own PS3 but I am disappointed with lack of variety in games. PS1 and PS2 had huge variety but it seems for PS3 the whole thing about games has gone quiet. So far only heard of tekken6 and super/street fighter 4 as the fighting games on this console. Where are huge numbers of games:(. Maybe its to do with development cost and time as it takes a lot of time to make a game for PS3.
