You say that as if it's a bad thing?

The Motors forum has an AWFUL reputation amongst many OcUK forums users.

we've had this argument before

So does Graphics Cards, so does mobile phones (who were so hostile to iphone users all iphone chat had to be moved to the apple forum) so does General discussion

the only forums that dont have a reputation are the quiet ones were nobody discusses anything. General Hardware is about the only large forum without a rep, but thats because every thread is a "spec me" thread or a "check my order" thread.

It's the same thing all over the internet unless a forum is heavily moderated.

Everyone has an opinion and everyone thinks they are right - even tho logic dictates some of them must be wrong. It's human nature and the cause of most conflict, even religious wars are based on one side thinking the other is wrong ;)

True enough, although every time I read "everyone who thinks XYZ is stupid or an ass or their Mum is fat lolz" makes me roll my eyes and groan in despair ...some of the stuff people come out with really is utterly laughable, I wonder whether or not they actually read their own posts and think about how they sound at times. OcUK on the whole, does not suffer this problem too badly, some forums are plagued by it though.

Because they don't understand it and (for entirely logical reasons) don't stick around long enough to understand it. It's very much an aquired taste.

There are any number of motoring forums where you can turn up, ask a question about buying a diesel Citroen to do 5k a year, and simply receive rational information on trim levels, answering your exact question, and nothing more.

Agreed, I was, was, being the key word a member of the GT4OC, there is alas only so many "how do I get to 300bhp?" "What boost is safe to run?" threads you can read before you tired and bored.

People get upset with this forum because they come in expecting an answer to a question no matter how stupid or ill thought out without wanting to be challenged. That has never been and, I hope never the case with OCUK motors.

Motors is the most 'sensible' and down to earth forum on OcUK I reckon.

I was having a read through the graphics card forum earlier today, since I'm interested in the forthcoming ATI/AMD 6000 series ...at least I am for £150 or less. Yet it seems some people really do spend as much on graphics cards every year, as some people here spend on cars ...just to get a few more fps or run with AA/AF set a little higher.

Forum wouldn't be the same without him, I don't always agree with him but respect his opinion!

And quite easy to rack up the posts, I hardly ever post and I've got a few in the same period of time.

I have met Fox many times and he is  He shares the same interest in cars like most of us in motors.

I think he sometimes is a bit strong in his wording at times and could say things in a slightly nicer way but this is the internet omg lols!!.11.!>1!111

:)

100k posts? jesus!

Is there a member list somewhere on ocuk to show member numbers and total posts?

sorry to derail the thread a bit, but i'm not even sure i could go back to another vauxhall. v8 or not.

The tails of woe with my old car have continued with its new owner. Clutch issue still not fixed (he thinks it needs another one, two sets of spark plugs and hundreds of £ spent trying to sort a misfire issue, a cracked alloy wheel and one or two other bits its picked up along the way.

Thoroughly put me off.

i think you really did have some bad luck with that car though, you'll have to get an st220 or a 330i for the next car ;)

anyway, back to foxy baby! we love you fox!!!! hehe

How dare you turn a thread about someones post count into a car related discussion in a Motors forums, swine.
