*** Official FIFA 11 Thread ***

Sold out at Asda so had to pay £38 at Tesco, grr, but anyway... it's awesome! Finding it much better to play than 10, although I'm stuck with a difficulties dilemma it seems; professional is just too easy now, but world class is a bit too hard. Bah. :p

Edit: how on earth do I get out of the reserves?!

Okay i like it now you are right robbo it's just an initial shock but it's much like wc2010 only you have to think more I think because I went straight to online maybe there was a lag issue there and it was raining which made it feel worse.

Liking it now am used to it although i still feel wc 2010 presentation is better

anyone figured out the chants stuff for ps3 ? there's chant packs on ea forum http://forum.ea.com/uk/posts/list/4401.page

so you copy them to a usb stick so do i want all chants in their own induvidual folders team a - z

or do i need all chants not in a folder ? so i have figured out how to get them in game but do you need to do each team individually ?

theres a guide but it seems too vague http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHlsR0c8EFU

Is this what my usb stick should look like ? or all these in one folder?

Not quite sure for the PS3, thanks for the link though just what I need :)

I know that you need to add them manually for each team through the menu, im just going to burn mine to Audio CD (Xbox 360). Not sure how would add them for PS3..

yea i have figured it out now thought you could add them all in one go but yea you have to add all chants individually.
slight problem is the chant sound is too low hope they patch that.

Not doing too bad online now that i have switched semi back to auto on all things.

One thing i have noticed though is the 6 minutes on this seems a lot shorter than the wc game think i'll have to search for 10 min halves instead find myself just getting in to games and look up and it's 90 mins over.

Another thing is i find that you have no choice but to semi ping pong pass or you will lose the ball.

Walked into morrisons about 6PM tonight and saw it on offer for £36...bought 2 copies (one for a friend who wanted it)

I think it's a good improvement over FIFA10, I like the way that the players 'weight' and 'size' makes a difference.

Well iv just had my first bash at the game, played the computer twice soton vs bournemouth drew 0-0 then won 1-0 (soton are my team). The computer ai is quite a bit better than in fifa 10 (well annoying for me at any rate).

Online this is WAY more fun, for a start I havnt had to suffer someone playing as barca, inter, man u or any of the stupidly good teams :) Everyone iv played is still trying to do fifa 10 on me so its been 4 games unbeaten now (half as soton too as the updated teams made martin good!). Im loving it just as the lobbing is much much harder so you now have to work the play to get goals...

Ive had some good games against oneshot tonight. I to have noticed that not many people are going for big teams. I play as a big team if I come across one but have played the majority of my games as Newcastle and won quite a few :)

In custom ranked match you cant select 10 min halves why not ? is that normal ? 6 mins is way too short feels more like 3 minutes to me its certainly much shorter than the 6 min halves in wc 2010.
please tell me this wont be stuck on 6 mins forever i have hit square to change the options but the time is greyed out

so whats the point of quick ranked 1v1 and a separate custom ranked 1v1 how bizarre
I'm not imagining it right its much shorter than the 6 mins in wc 2010 isnt it ?

I pretty much agree with what this guy on the EA forum said, people are trying to play the game like FIFA 10 and not putting any effort into learning the new gameplay system, and are just moaning instead.

Is this game...

* Frustrating? Yes.

* Buggy? Yeah.

* Breeding a hate filled swarm of whiners? Yes.

* Forcing regret upon you? For most of you, yes. yes it is.

* Similar to FIFA 10's gameplay in any shape or form? Not really.

As much as you're programmed to think how Fifa 10 wanted you to think, throw those thoughts out the window. All of your wants and desires for the (almost) perfect football sim wait anxiously inside of your console. You just gotta relax and get over the learning curve.

And to all of the whiners about the POWER PASSING ASSISTANCE toggle: hush up. I tried both settings ON and OFF, and did not see any noticeable difference. The only difference I found was that with the ASSISTANCE set to OFF, I had more freedom with my passing. I actually think that turning it ON IS A DISADVANTAGE, because you end up relying on the computer to make 'weighting' decisions.

I must say though, that some of the not so favorable inconsistencies in the online mode is especially frustrating. Although it seems most people are just yammering on about how the game is slowed down. Isn't that what we wanted?

Now quit reading, and go practice.

Loving it so far, 2 wins 0 losses so far on Online Ranked and both were easy wins, people are trying to play it like FIFA 10 it :p

I didn't complain about it because of that, there were a lot more problems with it that need addressing, but in fairness its not bad, FIFA is just a step up from it. ;)

C64, is your name Geoff? - http://forum.ea.com/uk/posts/list/13880.page

:D

yea and i am getting rid i cant be doing with games this short it's just daft you don't have a chance to come back it just encourages timewasting because the games are so short going back to wc2010 cant be doing with 3 minute halves as thats what it feels like.

I have won 5 and drawn 1 online and most i won 2-1 felt sorry for the guys as they had no chance to come back as the games so damn short
taking mine back to asda tomorrow - writing the cd key down for the online pass so i can give that to someone of course.
