I like cg films (still not seen avatar, didn't buy into the world first hype as it was false), although I prefer the human characters (suppose a more of a asian/japanese approach) to the likes of pixar as to get a more lifelike character is a lot more effort than a cartoon one due to the sheer subtlety needed for realism. Not saying pixar is bad or anything though. I suppose you could say because I have an understanding of the effort involved I appreciate the amount of work that is sometimes needed to do something really simple.
I've also just gone and watched the planzet film, the cg was pretty good (they knew what depth of field is!) although lip sync/animation was dreadful in places. The story was ok but like memyselfandi said it does feel like its the end of a series rather than a standalone film.
