Just in the process of making a upgrade to my machine. Window 7, Crucial C300 64Gb going in.

But now see that bigfoot is out. Would I have been better off getting one of these?

Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB Read Speed: 355MB/Sec, Write Speed: 70MB/Sec, Flash: MLC, Controller: Marvell, Buffer: 128MB

v

OCZ Vertex 2E Bigfoot 120GB Read Speed: 285MB/Sec, Write Speed: 275MB/Sec, Flash: MLC, Controller: SandForce SF-1200, Buffer: 0MB

How much difference does the buffer speed make, does it over come the difference in the makes read and write speeds?

well i went Crucial C300 64Gb over the big foot, as i will put it in my laptop when i upgrade to a bigger drive next year.

I went vertex as I like the way sandforce works and if I decide to get another for raid0 the onboard GC will take care of trim..

i am wondering the same as well... and also, when do these new intel drives come out? Because that could change the whole game maybe.

The way I look at it is you want a fast OS drive go with the C300 64gb if you want a fast driver for writing data to all the time then the Bigfoot is better. Or If you want best of both worlds and can afford it get the C300 256gb which has amazing read and very fast writes.

Just upgraded to a OCZ Vertex 2E Bigfoot 90GB, man what a difference, wish I would have done this earlier. Everything is soooooooooo quick now :)

Seems like a fantastic drive :)
