International terrorism highly likely!!

If we launch nukes everyone else turns us to glass because they can't be sure until it's too late if we've sent them at them.

They dont have any nukes over there, we would be fine.

Furthermore, the Soviets, China, and the US don't care about the middle east either.

Would just mean we could go in and take the oil more easily.

No but if we fire nukes china the us russia etc don't know who fired them and more importantly can't tell where they're going so will retaliate as if it's aimed at them.

it's why the attempts to make a conventional warhead for the trident system had to be scrapped.

Also russia and china are both pretty interested in the middle east.

I hesitate to say this as forethought doesn't appear to have entered into your plans at all but if we nuke the Middle East (all of it? including our allies?) and "turn it into glass" then it's going to be a bad neighbourhood to venture into for much of the next 10,000 years give or take - that pretty much precludes the ability to take the oil...

The threat level doesn't really mean too much to me in the sense that there's almost nothing I can do about it so I just accept what it is and try to get on with my life in as unchanged a fashion as I can.

I wonder if Tangosixteen realises that his illogical bloodlust is pretty similar to fundamentalist terrorist ideals.

Modern Thermonuclear weapons dont give off much radiation tho do they?

Also Hiroshima is doing ok and that was only 50 odd years ago.

It depends on the weapon and it's skirting the broader issue that such a course of action is not a realistic one - for many reasons but including even if we accept that after a couple of decades the terrain would be safe enough for humans to venture into then you've cut off that source of oil for that period, surely the opposite of what you are claiming will happen.

but then as the oil is only being used to power the US army back into the middle east, maybe you could afford to cut production, as long as the US pull out and stop riding 5mpg hummers on the battlefield?

I believe it's safe to travel and work after 1-2months of the fallout.
No doubt we already have suitable medicine and protective gear to construct an oil extraction facility during that time, for those who are willing to do it.

It doesn't stop people going to war so, off you go, sign some disclamer it might kill you in 20/30 years but the pay is good right now! :p

Bring it ****ing on. Thats what I say.

Hopefully something will kick off, then we can flick a switch and turn the middle east into glass and end this nonsense once and for all.

Once again, a bit of old school measure, restraint and thought will prevent you from looking like a right tool.

Warning, the US government might stage another terrorist attack in the aforementioned countries to further their agenda*.

*Locking down the internet, shoving people in prison without trial and waterboarding them, stopping people from using cameras in public places, invading middle eastern countries who have nothing to do with it, and increasing sales of bottled water due to fearmongering, all in the name of "security".

And who sells those bottles of water? Coca Cola.

Who did they do a lot of business with years ago? The Nazis.

It's a link, and I'm sticking with it.

What I find funny is how "OMG WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!" people get over announcements like this, but when it was announced that the Dissident threat in Ireland was upped to critical, the executive is requesting more money to fight the Dissident threat and British security and intelligence services announced that Dissidents where planning an attack on the British mainland all you get is a "meh" from them. I don't think it even made the papers on the mainland. The last time they got uppity about it was the sapper murders because three got done at the same time.

It's more likely that the next attack on Britain will come from Dissidents than Muslim terrorists.

That quick? It's remarkable, ok then I'll withdraw my previous skepticism in this regard - I still think it's an incredibly foolish idea for a number of reasons but the radioactive fallout isn't necessarily the problem I thought it would be.

The bomb dropped on hiroshima was about 15KT

A modern nuclear bomb would be around 50,000KT

Basically Fission bomb is the old bombs like the little boy, all energy is produced from fission
A Hydrogen/thermonuclear bomb makes most energy from fusion but it is triggered by a very large fission bomb.

Or in their own country by leaving a car full of bombs in Times Square again, or let the French secret service do it, they have plenty of experience w.r.t. the Eiffel Tower.
