18-25? Then please fill out my dissertation survey!

Mee to skippy! :p

Done though, except I guessed about the profit bits. You may want to take that into consideration!

Done it, however I feel the survey was not thought out properly before being written, the questions are written in a way that can lead to incorrect assertions being made for a variety of reasons, I would personally suggest researching how to design surveys and make another one.

ive never even bought a cd.... ive borrowed from mates? comment removed

http://www.emimusic.com/artists/ theres a list of the artists signed to emi, and how many big names can you see in there that you KNOW are millionares themselves? theres so much money in music for those at the top...

LOL I was into bootleg albums.

Mums the word. :D

If you remember bootleg vinyl was always coloured because that was the colour of the plastic they put it on to.
Record companies charged us extra for coloured vinyl when it was actually cheaper than the black dye they put into normal black vinyl.
Did that make sense?

Done.

However I also guessed that they all had a loss of income, surprised some made a increase in profit!

I went the opposite, I assumed they had all gained, but some lost. Suprising. Then again I know nothing of the bands on the labels to which I could have judged how sucessful a year that was had.

Music industry is an anachronism, they're too concerned with manufacturing bands and terrible 'pop' rather than seeking out real talent.

I'll give my money directly to the bands I like; in this day and age a band can own and operate it's own website, sell and distribute it's own music and merchandise, no need for a middle man.

The industries are so concerned with rampant profiteering they've actually made it harder to legitimately purchase and enjoy their products. Proprietary formats, restrictive software and DRM!

If piracy means the death of X Factor and it's ilk then we should all be doing it!
