Bravo channel to close

Not a bad thing really, sky are restructuring their channels and as long as the premium stuff stays and maybe even makes more room on the satalite for HD content then I can live with losing some of the repeat fest channels.

I dont really see the point of all the +1 channels tbh considering most people with sky have sky+ at least these days.

RIP timewarp television:(

I know that bravo is nothing of what it was these days, but back in the day before their revamp in 97, in the early 90's it was haven tv for me.

Great old films, b movies, classic urwin allen series, virtualy all the 60's, 70's, and 80's shows i enjoyed as a kid, and a ton of obscure stuff that'll never be seen ever again on broadcast screen.

When i see bravo to close, yeah it hits home, i have so many fond memories of the old bravo channel.... realy was brilliant.

were am i going to watch my cop shows and drunk brits now! lived of this channel when i only had freeview, booze britain was a great show.

sin cities was also a great show.

FFS I quite liked Bravo, yes it's a repeat fest but they also show some good stuff every now and then. What's going to happen to Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Sons of Anarchy? Will they be suitable for Sky1 which is supposed to be a family channel?

No more Danny Dyer's deadliest men either :(

So Murdock bought living group which included virgin 1, then he immediately rebranded it to channel1, and now he is shutting it down. They will then move challenge tv into channel 1's freeview slot, so they can do telemarketing for half the day.
The march of Murdock seems irrepressable.

I think it's odd that Virgin One has only just been rebranded and is being closed down. The change of channel for Chuck suddenly makes a lot more sense!

Bravo was good, but the good stuff will be moved onto the other channels anyway. Hopefully means less repeats and less off air time. But I doubt it.

Wonder what % is now Sky+/V+ compared to non +. surly +1 channels are knocking on deaths door.

sad...........remember childhood memories of watching WCW (wrestling) on bravo back in the day

Looks like Sky are playing hardball with Freeview. Cant stand the competition?

I'm guessing that given the amount of money Sky make they dont even see Freeview as competition. :)

Shame to see Bravo go, must have been one of the oldest satellite channels going. I always found the channel hit and miss, some good stuff, some awful stuff. But they did have Spartacus which was a plus, then again it doesnt look like any more of that is likely to be made in the foreseeable future anyway. Bravo wasnt the channel which was going to show The Walking Dead show though was it? Or was that FX?

EDIT : ah wait no..that was FX, thats ok then :)

Bravo was exceptionally good back in the 90s.
Awesome programmes, and risque adult stuff that got me through many a late night whilst babysitting myself.
