BFBC2 Vietnam release date??

Steam is fine.

The only date I've seen mentioned for this is Winter 2010, so I expect it around December.

Yea steam is ok, just didnt like how sneaky it was installed on my pc.

Also I dont like not having a physical copy of my game to do as I please with.

Steam makes, unistalling, reinstall, migrating etc... a little bit more complex.

im still wanting onslaught mode to come out on PC but for some reason they're having difficulty working out how to implement it for PC.

I wouldnt hold your breath.

The game is great, but there are still some outstanding bugs, which they still and wont get round to patching, let alone releasing a new game mode...

Any way heres to hoping...

The hit detection is a still a big problem....

I'm starting to admire Steam with all the sales going on. Steam folder already at 60GB and I'm pretty sure it will triple up very soon :)

On the side note, I just got my copy of M&B: Warband yesterday and surprise, surprise, the key works for Steam :D And knowing TaleWorlds, it's DRM free so I can install it on any other PC from a physical disc as well, using the same key (can't play multi on several computers at the same time, but it's not a problem as long as you play single). Also, the game costs £25 on Steam and I got it for £10, there's a massive difference between general pricing of Steam titles and their retail equivalents.

WTF? You can just backup the Steam folder and move it around as long as you sign in to your account. It's never been easier tbf.

Im a stickler for old fashion.....

I understand that steam do a good job of install/unistalling etc....

But all I said is that it adds an extra layer of complexity thats all.

With a regular hard copy game you install it from the disk, play it, and when you want to unistall it.

With steam. The game folders are located else where, you want to unistall something, fine, im sure its fairly easy, but does it remove the game files, and the save games....

Iv also had an issue in the past, when I downloaded a demo from steam, played it, deleted it, but the icon for the game, keept coming back even after I deleted it.

With a more regular disk based game, it far more simplier...

This thread seems to have digressed in to steam territory....

BFBC2 Vietnam folks!

Both versions of M&B use DRM I'm afraid. It's relatively relaxed DRM though.

I think it was just the key? I used to have several copies of Warband installed at the same time, never had real problems with it TBH.

Regarding the thread, there's no release date yet, so pointless speculation :p

EDIT: just found some info on DRM, Warband can be activated on 3 computers a month. Oh well.

right-click: uninstall
right-click: install
drag&drop to copy Steam folder in Windows..

Hideously complex, if you find context menus confusing.

First of all, I think its a skill one has to develop.

But pls refrain from smarty pants replies. :p

Secondly, once you do "right-click: unistall" your game, then you need to go through the process of redownloading it (15gigs in some cases) which is a pain in back side, if you want to play it again. (Thats of course if you havent backed it up.....)

Oh so its starting to get complex again isnt it!

All I said was I far prefer dvd copies over digital distribution, nothing to revolutionary there. ;)
