Anyone know why he did this? (police brutality)

If everyone were to look at image 4 that was presented. You see the cop has managed to get his foot the right hand side of the bicycle. The cop has not been run over and could very easily have avoided the incident like the cop remaining in the middle of the road.

He instead has run at the cyclist who is actually weaving to the pavement to avoid said cop. He then proceeds to apply pressure to the cyclist from the side, not the front as if it had been an impact. Note the cyclist has not stuck out any limbs so could not have tried to grab/interact with running cop.

Thus surely it is the cops intention to run and then knock said cyclist off. Unless he was trying very hard to stop some criminal this would be excessive force without having evidence for a crime committed by this individual.

can we throw this in the mix

well if the guy is a pothead then should he be on the roads under the influence?
a danger to himself and others.

And we can tell he's a pothead because of... the massive chonging joint that is clearly visible hanging from his mouth in the video?

It's all speculation.

just because i talk rubbish 99.99% of the time doesn't mean there isn't an element of truth in it somewhere.

Long, 31, who admitted on the stand he smokes marijuana daily

did he admit that before the police pushed him off or after is the point. you can't attack somene and then find a reason afterwards

but what if the copper pushed him off for the very reason he looked doped up...bit like pulling someone over if they look drunk, well almost if you replace the blue siren with a forearm to the face.

Then the copper wouldn't have any reason to really resign.

Only way to treat cyclists tbh, vermin of the roads. I regularly feel this urge as a pedestrian around London.

As far as I'm aware it's not an offence to cycle while stoned, or drunk for that matter.

Technically no, but you can be arrested for being drunk and disorderly and whatever the equivalent drugs charge is.

If he could get on and ride the bike, he wasn't that baked.

Come on peeps, why are you guys defending this pig thinking of all possible reasons why it wasn't an unprovoked attack by a bloody copper abusing the fact he knows the cyclist will not do anything because he is a cop.

Your high horse fell over when you referred to a Police Officer as a "pig" :p

+1

amazes me the amount of cyclists you see with no regard for road traffic laws running red lights, scraping cars etc etc

tbh there should be some sort of cbt type test for all cyclists motorised or not

It's OcUK.

Mindless defense of authority is one of their main fortes.

Yes it is. When I was a wee lad, I was charged with being drunk in charge of a bicycle on a public highway.

I got fined £35.
