HTC Desire HD (Ace)

Interesting to see all the hype surrounding this phone, considering most of the tech is three years old :p.

Do you try to troll all android threads? I swear that's the only thing I see you write in this forum. You also just seem to write the most mis-informed rubbish as well.

The CPU is a Qualcomm ARM7 Scorpion and is the first phone to have it. It will have 768meg of ram - the first phone to feature this amount. The GPU will be a powerVR545 which again I think might be it's first outing.

How is this old tech?

Phoned and been in store they say keep phoning

O2 said today they are launching the phone in the next couple of days but won't give a definate date

Conflicting opinions re: O2 upgrades as someone seems to have been told categorically that they will not be stocking the Desire HD - http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=52421&start=15

I've just called O2 upgrades myself and the girl couldn't say either way - all she knew was that it wasn't listed on either their current or upcoming stock lists. I'd quite like to stay with O2 as I'm currently paying £24.50 for their £35 contract due to a rolling 30% discount that I'd imagine I could keep going with a little sweet talking...

If anyone hears of anything regarding O2 and this phone then please keep us updated!

I phoned O2 this morning, they said that they were not getting the HD, but they were going to get a HTC Alternative phone, but wouldn't disclose what the alternative is (the Z maybe ?)

O2 did say that they would offer the HD on O2 Contracts through distributors like CPW and MPD, so sounds like O2 cutting their nose off tbh, such a shame too as im on O2 and would prefer to deal direct with O2 instead of going through a distributor, but if i have to i guess i will.

Friends and family? :D Exactly what I pay a month though it has always been over :( through my own fault.

My contract is up for renewal on 7th of November, I suspect I will have a wait if they are only just coming in to stock then. Booo

Anandtech's preview/review of the G2 (Desire Z) is up...

http://www.anandtech.com/show/3967/the-tmobile-g2-preview

Great performance but poor battery life (worse than the desire/N1 and doesn't bode well for the HD :()

Hope they improve the hinge quality control for the Z too.

Interesting, Engadget seemed quite content with the G2 battery life. Surprised even.

The G2 packs in a 1300mAh battery inside, and we found that it performed excellently in daily use, even with constant Twitter updates, lots of pushed email, browsing, and phone calls. You'll have to get the phone on a charger come nighttime, but for us that was pretty late in the day and we'd only just tapped orange on the battery icon. We were impressed by the phone's ability to sip juice even though it was pushing quite a bit of content over the network.

Engadgets more a hype blog, take all 'reviews' with a pinch of salt ;)

Anandtech actually test to some form of standard :D

while I agree to a point, several parts of the anandtech review were picked apart in the first 20 comments...

Whoa yea, that Preview got totally ripped apart :p My respect for Anandtech just dropped a bit.
