Hi
I have a Vertex 2E (firmware 1.11) running as AHCI.
Very shortly my annoyingly corrupted Win 7 64 is going to force me to a rebuild.

Am I right in thinking that I can't just format the drive as with an IDE/SATA drive, but I have to do something called "erase the drive".

SSDs are a new technology to me. Any help is appreciated

Just treat it as a normal drive, I do. Mine has had Win 7 and Linux installs numerous times and it is fine. I just ran Atto and I am getting 260 write and 280 read..

It has only ever been formatted by the os at install time..
