Vacuum Cleaners I need a decent cleaner that will pick up dog hair...

We have a henry cylinder cleaner that sucks at picking up dog hair (pun intended) can you suggest the best pet hair cleaner upright or cylinder.

This review is from: Sebo X4EXTRA Automatic Upright Vaccuum Cleaner, 1300W (Kitchen & Home)
This is an amazing hoover, I have had two dysons beforehand, and they dont even come close to comparison, the suction on the Sebo is fantastic,it hoovered up dog and cats hairs with ease, even my dyson animal DC07 couldn`t pick even 60% of what the Sebo picks up, even threads it picked up. It changes easily on its own from different carpets and floors. I have only had it a very short while, but cant recommend it high enough. Never used a hoover that made hoovering so effortless and with superb results. It came with some cleaning powder, which took off marks that other products hadn`t even been able to remove. The bags are a bit expensive, but so far not needed to empty, and yet by now my Dysons would have been emptied a few times by now, and also no loss of suction whats so ever. The hoover does let you know when the bag needs changing, and for the results of what the hoover does to the carpet, I think the bags are well worth their money. Congratulations on SEBO for a wonderful product that does what it says.

ust returned that awful dyson ball to amazon (as usual no problem)and bought this,I think it's brilliant and so easy to use(no messing joining bits of tube and plastic pipes). For a lightweight machine it really sucks the dust. The only minor fault is that it can easily be pulled over when using the short extension, cos it sucks so hard. With the longer extension(E4 Extra only)the stairs are a doddle.Great Machine, bags are the only healthy way to go and it's got a 5 YEAR WARRANTY just register it at the SEBO website.

This is my partners third Sebo and she always raves about them. Our last Dyson was just not cleaning upto her exacting standards and so to stop her commenting every time she vacuumed I brought her this new Sebo.
She is now a very happy bunny and actually vacuums with a smile on her face.
The suction is great you can actually see it lift the carpet as the head of the cleaner goes over it. The beater/sweeper works very well (much better than the Dyson) and the result is a fluff/hair/cotton thread free carpet.
Yes we are back to buying bags but the end result is well worth it.

It's always a big bunfight on here between the Miele and the Dyson. I don't think there's much in it really, it seems to be down to whether you want bagless or not.

My Dyson has just let go after 10 years of faithful service. I will fix it with a new set of motor brushes at £3 or at worst a new motor for £18, and maybe some new filters now it's in old age :D

Never used Henry to pick up pet hair, but I've always known it to be very good regardless. Have you replaced the dust bag as obviously when it starts to fill up, suction drops?

Miele cat and dog. Any discussion like this usually ends up with an argument between Dyson and Miele, it depends whether you want one that will last forever or one in pretty colours, with fancy adverts and cheap plastic...

Slight bias there ;)
