Who cares.

Jesus Christ! How rude are you?

The OP took the time and effort to take photos to share with the rest of the forum, obviously excited, which is a bloody nice thing to do regardless of your personal level of interest, and you make a comment like that?

I seriously hope your house gets egged this Halloween.

I'm with Dave, Halloween is fun :)

Remember when I went to an American school, it was taken very seriously there and it was an awesome day. I love getting dressed up for any occasion though, fancy dress is great so will be getting dressed up as something silly and going to a club to try and pick up the aforementioned ladies.

Wish we did it a bit better over here.

I actually like the idea of Halloween, fun thing for the kids.. deff seems to be a 'big event' in America while its not here (same with Easter I guess)

Good on the yanks

I dont think they could do it the same in Britain, the parties and dressing up yes, but decorating the houses and streets like they do here, no.
Peoples attitudes are different here, well New Hampshire anyways, no one would think about vandalising or stealing the decorations.

Some of the scarecrows have props, the one outside the bike shop is sat on a bike, hardware store one has a chainsaw, one of the pubs has a lot with drinks trays etc. They just wouldnt last in my home town, shame but thats the difference between here and there.

Oh come on mate, not all of England is like that, there are plenty of nice areas of the country still, parts of the Home Counties, the Shires, the West Country etc. It's not all brimming over with chavs you know :)

If this was tried back in Burnley, the stuff wouldnt last the night with the lack of respect and chavs in Britain.

Yep, I hate the lack of respect in this country. I bet out there you can build snowmen and the like too without them being destroyed. It's the better for it in quite a far reaching way, a lot more effort seems to be put into making things look nice even if they are 'vulnerable' and it really does make a place more pleasant to live.

Looks really cool in OP photos, if you're going to celebrate it then this is the way to do it! I expect out there you don't get 'chavs' coming round trying to effectively threaten you into giving sweets either, most likely people there only call at houses with pumpkins etc, who are observably participating in the holiday.

You are only allowed to go trick or treating at a certain time, and apparently the police are out in force to keep the kiddies safe. I have it on good authority the Mall is where the actions at, so thats where we are taking the daughter.

School buses are a nightmare if you get stuck behind one, when the bus stops, all traffic in both directions must stop until the school bus moves off. Stops stupid kids getting run over i guess.

Really wish I lived in the US for Halloween, being a big horror nut. LOVE their dedication to the theme, and you're right -- I'd like nothing more than to decorate my house etc. with all kinds of cool stuff, but the chavs around here would have it all nicked, destroyed, or sent through my window within the hour.

In fact, I'll be away at a film festival all-nighter over Halloween weekend. Looking forward to coming home to clean the eggs off my windows and walls. Fun fun.

OMG, that is actually so cool, seriously :D

You would never see anything like that over here in the UK, as already said cause of chavs, just being silly and nicking and destroying everything , can't stand them, they are the reason why I want to move to the USA amongst other reasons :D

USA looks so much better for Christmas as well than here.

They really do get into the spirit of holiday seasons.

I can't wait for the Halloween party at my school, this year I'm thinking of going as Madeleine McCann.

By not turning up.
