Star Wars: The Force (NOT) Unleashed 2 Announced

Environment interactions were really poor, like you couldn't jump onto objects properly. But I've loved the hack n slash style and picking up people and throwing them.

I found it disappointing because I was naively expecting Jedi Knight II but from the 'naughty side' of the force + shinier graphics.

I'm sure I could enjoyably complete the game if it wasn't for one pet hatred : the lightsabre is a vat of excrement.

If they changed the game so that a lightsabre swish through the torso was lethal / limbs could be chopped off etc then great... at present the lightsabre might as well be a curtain pole that one has to repeatedly 'doink' enemies over the head with before eventually knocking them out.

edit: perhaps 'curtain pole' is a little harsh... a 'tin foil-wrapped curtain pole' is more suiting as I remember being able to reflect lasers
:p

its the same with any hack and slash game. A sharp sword would cut limbs off just like a saber. But I agree a few hits then a finishing move like conan etc would be pretty awesome!!

Part 1 was all about the story and showing off their new engine they built lets hope they ramp up the game-play to match!!

I felt so truly cheated during the first game, I have to say going by the new clips it seems they have addressed a'lot of issues from the first... Despite knowing better I can feel myself getting that warm fuzzy feeling of excitement!

Still looks like the lightsabres are underpowered.

They should make the enemies much weaker and just throw loads of them at you instead.

Agreed the lightsaber in this was a stick you had to beat them to death with. There is no bigger Sw fan than me and as a cannon fan this was **** beyond belief.

One of the most dissapointing games i've ever played in comparison to Jedi academy and Kotor.

I remember I bought The Force Unleashed off you in the MM, didn't think it was that bad.

Actually that would be a pretty funny game although probably boring very quickly...

Don't see why? At least i don't see why it could be more boring than its predecessor.

I didn't say make the game easy, i mean more throw dozens of weaker enemies at you that chip you away. Much like jedis from the novels/films, you could easily take on a few storm troopers, but throw enough of them at a jedi and eventually one will get a lucky shot through. They should die instantly upon contact with a light sabre, but still dish out some decent damage. The game should be more about getting close to the enemy in as inventive/cool way as possible in order to get that critical fatal blow in than over the top combos.

The same rule would apply to this, loads of enemies that are all easy pickings individually, but en mass they pose a threat. This type of approach would encourage clever thinking (eg. how to separate the group in order to pick a few off) and caution. As it stands it's just beat your way through a few stormtroopers with your glowing stick and then get seven shades beaten out of you by one boss. It should be more like, plough your way through dozens of storm troopers and then confront several sith/jedi/battle mechs in a huge, super duper battle.

This guy is meant to be uber, but you spent so much time feeling like the bottom of the pecking order in the original.

First game on PS3 was so very meh... Played it through to the end, but it wasn't anything great...!!

Has some pretty bad screen tearing as well, and I felt the story was a bit boring for a star wars game.

not sure I'll be all that interested in this, even though it does look visually impressive. My only thanks was that I only paid £15 for the first one, wasn't worth much more then this TBH.

Just played it & I have to say it is a marked improvement over the first one, Which I may add I enjoyed a lot! Couldn't see any tearing in this one, Unlike you though I enjoyed the story of the first one.

The visuals in this are simply stunning! Mind trick is very amusing also :D
