24 - going back to the very start

After finally finishing watching Season 8 if started watching these again from the start.

Since the weekend ive watched the first 16 eps of season/day 1 and tbh i forgot a couple of things;

1)How freaking stupid is kim? ok shes fit but ive seen fungus with a higher IQ.

2)The plot lines in day 1 were very contrived and you can see they only had approval for the first 12 eps the way the story runs.

3)Jacks wife was annoying as hell even before she got amnesia (cant help but think of the futurama ep where everyone in all my circuits gets amnesia and laugh)

4)CTU could really do with a better staff vetting system.

I still remember season 2 as one of the best but my fond memorys of season 1 have some what proved to be rose tinted. I remember waiting for every new episode with baited breath.

Isnt season 2 the one with kim and the lion?
 
24 has always been trash. It's just incredibly high gloss trash with lots explosions and violence.

Best not to think about it too hard...
 
yeah its indiana jones type TV, but you cant always watch the wire or the west wing.

I've always found it good feet up, brain off TV.
 
Don't think I could go through it all again. Was great viewing and has been one of my favorite shows of all time, but because I know how it all pans out, it wouldn't be the same.

1) Kim has always annoyed me with her stupidity, but makes up for it by being fit :D

3) I couldn't wait for someone to kill Jack's wife. She grinds my gears as Peter would put, one of the most annoying characters on a TV show.

4) That would have put an end to a few seasons in a couple of hours if they actually took a look at their staff :p
 
1,3,5 were the best. the rest were balls season 8 only got good at the end when jack went psycho but that was for 4 hours out of 24.

season5 was so dark and epic - greatest season ever. to be honest just watch that none of the rest matter.
 
Watched the first one....that's enough for me, average acting, annoyingly dragged out plot and story. And Jacks wife was just the most annoying thing on tv, delighted when she died.
There are better things to watch!

Season 5 was brilliant mainly because of the useless, slimy President.

I've seen this on hmv and play, really tempted to go back and watch the lot. However, like the OP has realised, it will look like crap from back then. Just like watching the older simpsons episodes, it lacks the recent quality and I might lose interest :(
 
Funny this thread pops up as my missus wants to watch all the seasons. I was a little through season 6 when we started seeing each other and during the early days she used to pop round to see me when I was watching 24. She managed to see a few episodes and gradualy got into it. She did get annoyed at me when I watch some whilst she wasnt there with me.

We both started to watch it from Season 1 a few days back now. Obviously she doesnt know whats going on however, saying that, I am getting suprised because I remember episodes and I am thinking that sould be later on in the season, not now. So, this in mind the better episodes are coming to me far faster than I remember..

Oh, as to the vetting of the CTU staff, Yep... they really did need to improve the recruitment process.
 
Used to love 24, agree that Series 2 and 4 were the best. After that just more of the same, eg another mole in CTU, mistaken to be someone else!

Currently working our way through Spooks and whilst it is similar, it is 100 times better!
 
Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 were all so epic in my opinion. I still enjoyed season 6 a lot, just not as much as the others.
 
Charles Logan was the best character in the entire show.

The nuke in series 6 was easily the shark-jumping moment of 24.
 
Awsome show but I've never been able to go back to the start, for one the early seasons look so dated now.

Looking forward to season 8 arriving in the post :)
 
I swear there's a mole in like every season!!!

as mentioned above it's good mindless entertainment, i too will be awaiting the blu-ray box set!
