Chilean rescue mission on BBC news in 6 hours

How are they heroes? They've not exactly done anything more strenuous than sit on their asses for 2 months.

While I don't quite see that they're heroes, I'm also not convinced it was quite as easy as "[sitting] on their asses for 2 months". No real need for that.

Damn that's absolutely mental... they've been trapped for 2 months? How do they even know that they're still alive etc?

How many months until a Channel 4 documentary appears, followed by a film featuring Nicholas Cage as a miner?

Just seeing the footage there from the top of the shuttle really made me realise just how horrible the ascent must be for them, the fear of it getting stuck must me immense.

What is the plan if the carriage does get stuck? Can they get out of the bottom? But then what......

I think the miners can take the capsule down if something was to happen.

That picture from the top of the capsule going up the passage makes my stomach turn. Dark and seemingly neverending. I would be freaking out..

the thing would need to have some form of commode in it before I could even consider getting in there. It would need a good wash down before they sent it back as well tbh.
