Hello there.
My mam's currently on phone and internet with Virgin Media.

Today she rang up Virgin Media to upgrade the phone to L and the internet to XXL.

That comes to a total of 43.44 per month, however, they're also charging us a 60 pound installation and activation fee?

I'm confused by this installation and activation fee, I was under the assumption it was free on the XXL package.

Any advice on this please?

Cheers.

Tell them to forget it then ("despite the extra monthly fee, you still want to charge for installation? You obviously don't want my business then...")

They'll soon backpedal.

Just moan about it and it will be free -- its pretty simple really :p We got ours for free
(though it got added to the bill, we rang them up and it was taken off the next months bill

New customers get it free so you should be able to wangle it and try get it free

That's what I was going by when I first asked her to change our package (My mother hadn't told me the bill, our last was 48 quid.. And we're on 10MB)

However she folded and agreed to pay the price.
They're set to come on the 27th, I'll try telling her to moan for it free.

It's something they charge people who don't like asking for it to be free.
For those that dare say it's too much they remove the fee making the customer feel good about getting something cheap.
