Mate just take her to places you know and feel comfortable in, you don't want to appear lost on the first date, look confident and you own humour will shine through. Setting doesn't really matter, as long as your both comfortable. It's a first date you are supposed to get to know each other.

The other night I was at a gig. The pints were £4.30 each. I mean, that's really really pushing it. Especially since I saw them pouring it out of a can.

I personally wouldn't go to a Comedy Club. First dates are great when you just talk. But whatever you think will work.
