Clio 200 Cup via finance

You are boring me and derailing my thread. You have offered nothing in the way of advice whatsoever yet your replies, which incidentally show you have even less experience than I do, are causing other people to pick up on that as well.

FYI here is a review: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/236731/renaultsport_clio_200_cup.html

I may go and test drive one this weekend.

IMO I think the deal is fine. I personally am not a fan of the Clio (in any form) BUT if you like the car, go for it.

Not sure this is so bad a deal? Looks quite good to me, the total cost is several grand under list price. With the low mileage limit it looks like a good deal aimed at creating used stock for the dealer.

I had a suspicion you would absolutely tear this apart. I'm going to organise a test drive, do the calculations and figure out as closely as I can how much this would cost me over and above a Clio 182 or Trophy.

I would like the black speedline alloys and also the recaro seats, this may push the monthly price up somewhat.

Certainly when leasing you can use this to calculate the cost for extras

Base Monthly Cost + (Total Cost of extras / number of monthly payments)

(bit unfortunate but you end up paying for the whole cost of any extras you buy).

In terms of PCP, certain extras will increase the residual value somewhat.

So say Speedlines increased the GFV by £300 then it's offset against original cost of extra + Interest.

I dont think it does, The MGFV is set by the finance company any extras you have, be it metallic or stereo etc is just added to the finance (read2/3 years) deal, so on the repayments.
although it could be different, this is just based on what has happened to me in the past.

I called the dealer and I will be testing driving over the weekend (hopefully!). He said it's possible to pay for the options upfront with a greater deposit or simply pay more monthly.

Does one method have an advantage over the other? So far I'm thinking it would be £425 for metallic paint, £925 for the Recaro options pack and £180 for the speedlines (£1530 in total).

So at the end of 24 months you have to pay up £8,500 or they take the car back? I don't think I'd be happy with that hanging over me.

If you add the cost of depreciation and maintenance on a comparable car you're going to be close to that £200 a month figure in any case.

it's standard practice, if you like the car refinance the 8.5K. or just continue with the same payments and a new deposit and get a NEW car,I know the one I would choose.

to the OP where have you seen this deal, as when I was looking renault were pushing them out at £350 a month, and renault finance has recently taken a downer on personal finance,(but will lend to businesses quite happily though,go figure) also just to note if you happy about the payment terms and having to give it back and all that , have you looked at lease?

Seems like a pretty good deal to me, there are people that spend nearly that much maintaining their cars alone.

You can do worse things with £200 a month than drive around in a brand new, very capable hot hatch that is unlikely to cost you a penny other than in tax and insurance.

How much does the extra grand for recaro put on the payments?
