Really? You could have mentioned that in your OP, surely?

"Spec me a car that looks nice (I don't know what I want from it)" would have served you better.

im not wanting to be speced a car ive picked 2 i like the look of, i was wanting to know if i could get a decent impreza or is200 for £5000.

You like the look of them (plus the Mini) but don't seem to know much about them and haven't taken them for a drive. Don't you think these two points should be addressed if you're prepared to throw 5 grand at one of them?

wanted to know if i could get one for £5k before i went looking for one to drive.

Impreza - yes but watch out for those that have been ragged, and hard. That'll be a lot of them.

IS200 - yes but don't you want to look at the IS300 as mentioned a few times above?

Classic Mini Cooper - no idea.

all the 3L seem to be autos acording to parkers. want manual.

impreza this would be perfect except its for sale 4 months to early and 140 miles away.

An excellent find.

Don't worry about missing this one, theres enough out there. As your looking for a wagon your chances of buying a tired one are reduced. Most wagons of this age tend to be owned by mid 30 somethings with a couple of kids.

If appearance are the only priority, why are you asking questions at all? Surely google image search will answer everything you need to know

Yes you can buy a Blobeye WRX for 5k.

/thread.

Should never have mentioned the IS200, or colin mcrae, or any other daft logic, and just said you wanted an impreza and had 5k to spend, can i get a deceont one ? and left it at that.

well hes the reason i want an impreza, made a mistake thinking he drove a wrx when it was a wrc. i like the look of is200 so why not ask about them too?

He never drove that shape of Impreza, he signed for Ford in 2000.

The point people are making will become abundantly clear to you when you drive them.

One car is thirsty, expensive to run, cheap and nasty inside yet very, very fast.

The other car is not quite as thirsty, cheaper to run, nicer inside and pretty slow.

If you love the Impreza the IS200 will annoy you. If you like the IS200 the extra money on the Impreza is a waste.

Look, IF you want a lexus is200 or scoob wrx

Then surely it makes sense to look at the faster is's as well, as what you have done (which is what we are strugging with) is this:

Hi guys i want a germanic saloon car what do yo think is right for me?

BMW 335i
Merc C Class 320K
Audi A4 1.8T

CHEERRSSSS

That would have made more sense as an analogy had you said..

BMW M3
Merc C350
Audi A4 2.0 TDI S-Line

Wagon is the Estate yes but you can still get either...

A Sport Wagon, which, as I stated is a non turbo, 2.0L
or a WRX Wagon, which as I also stated is a turbocharged 2.0L (until about 2006 when it became a turbocharged 2.5L)
