Have you got planning permission for this venture?

Why would i need permission? Im not building anything or changing an agreed usage of anything.

When i was in the caravan game for a couple of years i had 60 of them in my bottom field, it was like ***** paradise.

Caravans. Moody Gold. All you need to say now is that you used to deal in "dags" and you'll be a 100% full blooded ***** :D.

Dont laugh caravans were good for a while, but a bit time consuming, good money in them.

It's only ~10acres total plot size, that isn't that big really, especially considering most of it is small fields and trees...but I'm too used to living in the countryside in a ~5acre plot surrounded by 10+ acre fields and woodland. :p

Interesting thread Mark and I hope this venture does go well for the two of you.

The trees mess it up iv managed to have some removed but the council are hard work, iv got 4 separate planning appeals going through now, its rubbish.

Every little thing is hard work.

It's just worth checking with the local authority as although you may have agreed a change of use for your land before, the sale of vehicles may fall under a different category.

You certainly need planning permission to operate a business selling vehicles from a residential property, from scratch.

Between you and i, i wont be saying jack **** to the council, if they end up with a problem they can come and tell me to stop, by then i will know if its worth carrying on with this business or not.

My local council are 100% pure arse holes :)

So have you started taking internet orders, any discount for OCUK forum members and how much can you push out a 3 series 335i M Sport 4 door for ? :D

The council ask for a lot of things in theory, the time to take this up is when you have a problem, not now..

I don't think he'll have a problem, especially so in a family run business.

I've been selling cars since I was 18, and at 23 cars with a value of over £100k.

I wouldn't buy a car from a snotty 18 yr old salesman

oh hang on I did :p

How was this going? Are you up and running now?

Am i ****, my son showed zip interest and has gone back to earning his usual working for my other business and i have been slowly selling the stock i bought for him.

This rubbish has cost me 5k and numerous wasted hours along with plenty of shouting matches, still im not even getting annoyed, because the new me is taking things in my stride.

Im going to these anger management sessions now, 90 quid an hour im telling you its working.
