hi.i'm thinking of putting 2 x25-m 160gb ssd's in raid 0.i know i won't have trim working but will that be a big problem.can i run some other software on these intel drives like garbage collector instead?

no m8 no kind of garbage collection as of yet on intels that i know of anyway, i have the 80 gb versions in raid0 with no problems at all, and very good speeds getting over 400mbs.

There was a misunderstanding due to ambiguously worded release notes.
There is no TRIM for RAIDed SSD's at this time, what that driver release actually did was enable trim on single SSD's when the controller was in RAID mode (so if you had a single SSD boot drive, and a RAID1 Mechanical drive array for storage)

There is no trim on the drivers that have just come out either, they just increased the amount of cache the RAID controller can use, which has improved performance.

Overall it's really not a big deal, the Intel drives don't degrade too badly despite lacking Idle time Garbage Collection or TRIM
