Call of Duty: Black Ops

Good news then!

I got very worried when I saw a list of dvar's and stuff that could be changed. But it makes sense for things to be unencrypted as the people who should have the beta should have no bad intentions.

This really

I think the servers got taken down to make preventative steps against the mods straight away...... If anything this is a good thing and a damn good reason to have a beta in the first place

Can’t believe the price of this game, pre –order prices are up to £45 for the standard edition… £45 for a game? No thanks. That one can stay on the store shelf until it reaches a sensible price.

And, no doubt the single player campaign can be beaten in little under 5 hours.

Seeing as how Activision killed Guitar Hero with abysmal sales, I forsee COD being next, not with this title but Activision will kill this series eventually. They kill all franchises. Look what they did to Tony Hawks?

You do know this wont come down in price?

It'll eventually drop after a couple of years, MW2 has finally dropped. I just don't think any game is worth that price when compared to so many other titles out there at the moment..

Heck, I can get MGS4 that is a huge game for less then a tenner now. And, Castlevania was released this month for £32 from most places and thats reported to be 20 hours plus..

Activision can go do one with this for now. Like the idea of the game, but I'll wait till it hits a price that makes it worthwhile and based on reviews as well.

no saying its going to be any good. Look at MOH tier 1 - lol

Hmm I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and pay £45, cant not get it when all my mates will be playing. £45 aint that bad, when you consider games havent changed price much in what 10/15 years. If anything theyre cheaper and fall faster apart from exceptions like the COD series.

Theres always the chance of a supermarket deal I guess but imagine it will be more spend £30 to get it cheaper.

Vids look good, wont be a ground breaking difference to MW2 but there we are :)

Just as an FYI:

The two high street stores that are linked will 99.5% be offering a trade in x game and get Black Ops for £25. They aren't sure what the games will be but they think it might consist of Fifa 11, Halo Reach & MOH.

If supermarkets are going to sell this cheaper like they did for COD MW then might be interested, if its a decent enough game. If all games cost on average £45 then so be it, just not fuelling Activision's greed and kotick's stance of milk all he can out of gamers and game franchises..!!

Like I said, I do like the concept of the game and it all looks quite good. I will say I did enjoy COD World at War which was £34 from most places on release and I did enjoy COD MW on the PS3, was one of the first PS3 titles I got and found this on sale for £29.99 but I refuse to pay £45 for a game when all others are priced at £32 - £38 at most similar places that sell PS3 games.

Its not on. As for trading some AAA titles in for an already overpriced title, well again more fools them IMO for doing this.

Happy days - Player name indictaor can be turned off, I found this one of the most annoying things on MW2 you'r aiming down sites and one of your team mates runs in front of you and all I can see is (prestiege whatever) Konvict VIVIVI in big green letters and can't see a damn thing beyond it!!!! - This is probably one of the best bits of info out of any video for me so far

EDIT: Tubed @ 3.50 in the video :(

£45 isnt bad to pay for this though since its been the same price for the last few anyways.

Fair enough.. Clear fans of the series are willing to pay it. Kotick has got his wish and upped the price of video games and got away with it.. Damn, watch all other games increase in price as time goes on..

Don't think we'll be thanking Activision in the future.. But anyhow, those who buy this, enjoy your 'IMO' overpriced fps, I'm sure you'll get your moneys worth.

and to those who wait for second hand copies, or cheap supermarket deals, may you enjoy it even more, not only from the cost savings.. lol:D

The thing is I could pay full RRP for this game, and still feel that after 8+ days of multiplayer that I have got value for money.

Ah now that's the key phrase.. MP. You see, I myself wouldn't play the MP all that much, so maybe this is why I'm bias towards the cost.. MP is something in a game that should be additional and not the whole game, unless the game is just purely online.

COD black ops is meant to be SP and MP, but whats the betting the SP is so short and shallow, getting £45 worth out if it isn't possible..?? Short changed much? No, if a game is meant to be MP it should be just MP and nothing else, if it includes SP then it should focus on SP and maybe have MP added, such as Uncharted 2.

Ok uncharted 2 wasn't that long but you could get at least 8 hours play out of it, maybe more if you aren't that quick at games..

Anyhow, I ramble on.

As it gets closer the more I want it but do I?

Wasn't you the one who complained about F1 2010 being too expensive and should wait for it to hit £20, so why pay £45 for a game? Wait until it drops to £20.. :p Unless I've got the wrong person, I know the counter arguements were that you get the game sooner, so why wait..!! Or something along those lines.
