Ok so I've been hatching an idea, I'm not sure if its been attempted before but how about a competition for Motors to vote for what they think is car of the year.

They way I feel it should work is that I'll reserve a post under this for members to email a picture of their car and a small paragraph of why they should win members car of the year. I'll then post it in that reserved post. Your free to nominate your favorite and I'll then take the top ten into a final with a Poll. Simples

Prize = Some booze paid for by me.

EDIT: If you'd like to submit an entry then use my msn email in trust.

EDIT 2: Just to explain a bit better email your entry not nomination and I'll set a deadline of 30th November then I'll tally up the nominations from this thread. Then I'll start a Poll with the top 10.

Why should You Win?

I feel that with a 400bhp 6.0L Corvette V8 under the hood gives me serious man points, coupled with the rarity of the beast. The fact it can be used as a daily car, has supercar performance and is cheap as chips to maintain makes it a serious contender.

Good idea. While it would be unfair on the other competitors to submit my own, I think mark's bentley has to be included for pure awesomeness, fox's BMW for the anally retentive clinical cleanliness of it, and probably your monaro for v8 epicness
 
I was thinking of entering my beloved Jag, im going off that Bentley a bit, i feel im being drawn back to Porsches now iv had a few drinks :)

wait, wrong thread. Maybe - best V8, best oil burner, best hot hatch, best choice in personal circumstances (some people with love that) and worst decision in personal circumstances (infact i think people will like that more)

Actually categories would be better with an overall car of the year. Good idea.

I think if you go into personal circumstances, good or bad, the thread will probably go way off topic

You should have best st220 and best 330ci though :)
 
Shouldn't something like this be done during the Christmas period when we're all drunk (Not just Mark! :p)?

Surely Princey should be disqualified and it doesn't even count because he's not even had it a few days, if he's even picked it up yet? Nobody on OcUK knows it, etc etc.

Worst 'LOOK AT MY MONARO' thread ever :p

I'll bid you £3k under book for it if you have to sell it when you get fired btw :p

I don't think this can be used as a reason as the ability for your foot to push the pedal to the floor to access all 400 bhp is lacking due to your stature :D

Not a look at my Monaro thread at all. :p What I was just providing an example. What should I of done? Googled a random car image? I did say at the top if the post EXAMPLE, not an entry.

On a side note, I haven't even collected it yet. I get it Saturday when its finished having some stone chips sorted.

Is it really necessary to bring up his work situation in every thread possible? It's getting a bit old now

After the 10 page epic thread in GD where he changed his mind every 30 seconds, until we know what happened, sure it is, otherwise he robbed us of that 2 hours :D

I'm back at work after getting a written warning for buying 4L of oil without prior permission. Now lets not derail this thread. Kthnx
