They have the usual problems associated with the VAG 1.8T (no idea what they are though).

The car itself is solid, the only major common fault is water ingress through the doors.

If you want a cheap to run car i wouldn't be getting something petrol powered with a turbo bolted to it, i also wouldn't be buying a 1.8t, when they get to that sort of age they usually become a moneypit.

The Leon has a much better interior build quality and solid feel compared to the Ibiza.

You get an extra 30BHP and a slightly bigger turbo with the Leon Cupra too so they remap better

11 stamps in the book, at the very least this is a 110k mile car if its on fixed interval servicing, if its variable and they really are motorway miles it will be on 150-200,000 miles.

Didn't realise these were coming in at this price now.

Great cars, wonderful engine - a nice torquey 2.2, plus plenty of off- and on-VTEC grunt.

I averaged 33mpg in my Prelude (same basic engine) over the 4 years I had it, and on a run, could stretch that to ~38mpg easily.

Granted the ATR is slightly heavier (but not by much) but the consumption won't be much worse than that.

The turbo is exactly the same size, the only difference is the number of veins and I think the actuator spring strength.
