Hi there,

I was contacted by www.assuredwebdevelopments.co.uk and they said they could optimise my site and build me a 3 page mini site to increase my ratings with google, now here is where it goes wrong.

Not wanting to give them the full lot in one go they offered me a 2 stage payment option, I paid £176 on the 8th september and since then I've had no contact from them, no responce to emails and the phone line seems dead.

All I got from them was a 3 or 4 words at the bottom of my site saying optimised by AWD, yeah really worth £176 my **** I've since changed my login details for my site.

I've spoken to my bank (was paid via online banking) and they said it's not fraud due to me sending the money to them and thus there is nothing they can do.

What can I do now, they seem to have vanished off the face of the earth and don't seem to have annoyed anyone else, so am I the first?

Over to you guys.

Any help would be great.

You gave money to a company that contacted you? sorry to be harsh but when in the history of the human race has that ever gone any way but badly?

Hope you paid on a CC so you can hopefully get the transaction reversed.

Doh, you gave your FTP details to a company that built their own site with "Mr Site Takeaway Website at www.mrsite.co.uk" :/

One of our clients was approached by a similar company. Luckily he ran it past us first so we could put him straight.

Awesome, an SEO company that uses index.html, page1.html, page2.html etc for the URL structure!

Unfortunately it looks like you've been done.
