I would imagine its because of limited production output at TSMC, this should change next year when Global Foundries is up and running with 28nm.
NVIDIA prices, maybe you guys should check them out.

Yes I'm sorry they are nice prices, but I'm thinking if I'm after a 470 I'm gonna want the custom cooler options, and I don't see them at a nicer price

by the looks of it its just ocuk
like i said, lower the price of the nvidia cards, plant a seed, and hope a bird comes and takes it.
from what gibbos says, that amds offering will have no effect on sales of 460/70, this is either telling us they are **** and will be expensive or its a sales tactic, and i know what im thinking it is.
then again it all depends on how he means will not effect sales.

Any confirmation for the actual price for the 6850 and 6870 yet, or still can't disclose them until Friday?

The Gigabyte 470's are my back up plan if the 6950 (or whatever) is too expensive
